Double entendres, February 13, 2006
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
Agreed, double entendres can be fun and funny when they are well done and/or presented to the right audience. But the meaning behind phrases like "Tell her to get her motor ready because I'm going to give it to her HARD" and "She does it in cars, vans and limos until her tank is full" and "The foxes are hornier than the hunters", "I give it to a "cat" of any color" & etc., are only missed by those who don't know what sex is: and those who don't know what it is are being taught a lesson about sex that is hardly respectful to women or healthful for anyone. ¿Can you imagine your daughter asking someone to "fill her tank" because she loves to do it in cars, limos and vans? ... And then yelling about how much she loves getting it?! If that's what you want to hear your children singing because you think it's cute that they don't understand, I suggest you keep an eye on them because they'll learn soon enough, and with this as a first lesson, they're not getting off on the right foot. Imposing adult culture on children is not an enlightened, open-minded, liberal idea, it's myopic and probably also either ingenuous (at best) or ignorant (at worst). Childhood is, or at least should be, a time of innocence, where the hard things are times tables, phonics and remembering to bring home the permission slip for mom/dad to sign. Life will come at kids fast enough, we really don't need to speed up the process for them. Some kids are forced to grow up faster than others, but it seems bad judgement to give an album like this to kids: it's like asking them to grow up faster than they need to.

Reggaeton latino's............................, February 25, 2006
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
I love this CD.... my children love dancing and singing to it. It's the beat that makes the music. Yes some reggaeton music is sexual, but they did edit this cd to make it ok. My children are 1 and 3 and sing to it. They don't say much but one word out of the verses. They love when they say ooh ah ooh ah and they say "muneca"(doll). It's adorable when they dance. I too listen to rap and r&b now and always have. Now a days almost all music is getting dirty. It's no different for the children to listen to the radio. Now they have a r&b song about loving a stripper. I think kids learn more from there parents and those around them. Children are images of you. If you say f*ck or sh*t they say it cause they look up to you. Your the role model, things mean more when they come from your mouth. My nephew calls women "susias" (sluts or hoes). He didn't learn that from reggaeton, he learned that from his father... It's just music.... Get up and dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for Parties, February 15, 2006
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
I listened to the album thoroughly, and the lyrics are in fact edited for kids. With all the access kids have to the "real thing", I thought it was a great idea to get this album. My nephew recently had his 9th birthday party, and other kids at the party loved it. I'd rather have them listening to this.
