5.0 out of 5 stars Reggaeton latino's............................
I love this CD.... my children love dancing and singing to it. It's the beat that makes the music. Yes some reggaeton music is sexual, but they did edit this cd to make it ok. My children are 1 and 3 and sing to it. They don't say much but one word out of the verses. They love when they say ooh ah ooh ah and they say "muneca"(doll). It's adorable when they dance. I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Double entendres
Agreed, double entendres can be fun and funny when they are well done and/or presented to the right audience. But the meaning behind phrases like "Tell her to get her motor ready because I'm going to give it to her HARD" and "She does it in cars, vans and limos until her tank is full" and "The foxes are hornier than the hunters", "I give it to a "cat" of any color" &...

1.0 out of 5 stars Double entendres, February 13, 2006
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
Agreed, double entendres can be fun and funny when they are well done and/or presented to the right audience. But the meaning behind phrases like "Tell her to get her motor ready because I'm going to give it to her HARD" and "She does it in cars, vans and limos until her tank is full" and "The foxes are hornier than the hunters", "I give it to a "cat" of any color" & etc., are only missed by those who don't know what sex is: and those who don't know what it is are being taught a lesson about sex that is hardly respectful to women or healthful for anyone. ¿Can you imagine your daughter asking someone to "fill her tank" because she loves to do it in cars, limos and vans? ... And then yelling about how much she loves getting it?! If that's what you want to hear your children singing because you think it's cute that they don't understand, I suggest you keep an eye on them because they'll learn soon enough, and with this as a first lesson, they're not getting off on the right foot. Imposing adult culture on children is not an enlightened, open-minded, liberal idea, it's myopic and probably also either ingenuous (at best) or ignorant (at worst). Childhood is, or at least should be, a time of innocence, where the hard things are times tables, phonics and remembering to bring home the permission slip for mom/dad to sign. Life will come at kids fast enough, we really don't need to speed up the process for them. Some kids are forced to grow up faster than others, but it seems bad judgement to give an album like this to kids: it's like asking them to grow up faster than they need to.

I too listen to rap and r&b now and always have. Now a days almost all music is getting dirty. It's no different for the children to listen to the radio. Now they have a r&b song about loving a stripper. I think kids learn more from there parents and those around them. Children are images of you. If you say f*ck or sh*t they say it cause they look up to you. Your the role model, things mean more when they come from your mouth. My nephew calls women "susias" (sluts or hoes). He didn't learn that from reggaeton, he learned that from his father... It's just music.... Get up and dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for Parties, February 15, 2006
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
I listened to the album thoroughly, and the lyrics are in fact edited for kids. With all the access kids have to the "real thing", I thought it was a great idea to get this album. My nephew recently had his 9th birthday party, and other kids at the party loved it. I'd rather have them listening to this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gasolina, February 12, 2006
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
wait a minute, I always thought that the song Gasolina was about a car and car races, not sex... Dale mas gasolina (to make the car go faster) ect... LOL > this is a double meaning song and you take it as you want to see it. My six year old son loves reggeaton and it is okay with me... I grew up listening to rap music and rock music and I am either a drug addict or a gangster. It was my parents influence that kept me straight, and no matter what Marilyn Manson or Dr. Dre tell me in their songs I make my own decisions and I trust my parenting skills enough to let my son enjoy any type of music he chooses to love. This cd rocks, it is cool that it is sung in a tone that younger kids can enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice to know kids can enjoy, January 3, 2006
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
I love the fact that my godchildren can listen to the same kind of music that I like and that lets face it is extremely popular right now. It's great to know that they are not listening to lyrics that refer to sex like SOME reggeaton.

2.0 out of 5 stars not completely appropriate for children, January 1, 2006
By
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
I almost bought this CD for my son until I realized that the songs were not completely edited for children. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and I now live in the USA. This music is very contagious, I really like the rhythms, but some of the lyrics are not appropriate for kids under 13yrs old. For example; the song "cae en la noche" the kids keep saying "p---ta", growing up that was a very bad word that I could loose my teeth if my parents heard me saying that. On another song, there is a lot of reference to kissing and hugging(boyfriend-girlfriend kind of thing)and lastly there is one song that is sending regards to all the convicts,I don't think that you want your child to think that being a convict is cool. I am not saying that you shouldn't buy this CD, the music is great but think about, if you buy it, listen to it first and talk to your children about what you think. Isn't that what parenting is all about?

4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!, September 1, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
When I very first saw this in tehr commerical, I got SO amazed by kids actually singing these songs, that I just had to buy it! My Mom gave it to me by surprise as a birthday gift, and man, was I happy! My family listened to this CD when we were in the car, going to a restaurant, and I quite enjoyed they're talented voices. After hearing that millions of people say that this is unappropiate because of the exclipict lyrics, I asked my Mom if she knew what Reggaeton Ninos was really about. She said that they're just songs that are sung by kids. You know, covers of pther artists' hit songs. So I guess she and my Dad are TOTALLY okay with me listening to this, SO unlike "Yer Blues" (it was a song that I just couldn't stop listening to, mainly because it was John Lennon at "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus" with his amazing screaming vocals. But after all the adults learned the lyrics, like 'I'm lonely, wanna die/If I ain't dead already,/Girl, you know the reason why' and sort of describing death, and they didn't like that AT ALL, so I made a "will" to NEVER EVER listen to it EVER again! I just mute it whenever his performance will come out or skip on to Yoko Ono's performance! Even my Daddy got my favorite gothic band, Evanescence's CD and some songs have to do with death, too, but NOBODY minds THAT!) Anyways, if you love rap music and great music that'll just make you want to move your shoulders, then this CD is for you! Forget Kidz Bop! This is better!

1.0 out of 5 stars Este disco es una mierda, June 19, 2007
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)

1.0 out of 5 stars Not at all appropriate for children***, January 16, 2006
This review is from: Reggaeton Ninos 1 (Audio CD)
"It's great to know that they are not listening to lyrics that refer to sex like SOME reggeaton." - Olivia Krasinskas
Excuse me for correcting you here, but you have misused the word 'some' in this context. MOST of reggeaton talks about sex. And if it doesn't talk about sex it talks about other things that children should NOT be exposed to.

"This music is very contagious, I really like the rhythms, but some of the lyrics are not appropriate for kids under 13yrs old."- lira "lira"
Again, misusing the word 'some' because none of the lyrics in reggeaton music is acceptable for children.

"I don't think that you want your child to think that being a convict is cool."- lira "lira"
Gee, No kidding?

"I am not saying that you shouldn't buy this CD, the music is great but think about, if you buy it, listen to it first and talk to your children about what you think. Isn't that what parenting is all about?"- lira "lira"
Yeah, basically that is what parenting is all about. But you shouldn't have even considered buying the cd for your children. It's a whole other culture that you are exposing them to, that should not be tolerated. It is one that accepts such horrible things. The wonderful thing about children is their innocence and by showing them this music, you are taking that away from them.
