This volume presents a brief overview of the history of the Italian Air Force following the September 8, 1943 armistice. The book is well illustrated and the translation is adequate. The section dealing with the Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force fighting on the allied side is not as complete as would be desired. The section dealing with the Aeronautica Nazionale Republicana is somewhat more complete. The book is a good introduction to this aspect of aeronautical history, but lacks any in depth analysis of the events covered.
