This review is from: Regicide: The Official Assassination of John F. Kennedy (Hardcover)
Well, I've been looking into the assassination for 39 years now, and it seems that finally the truth has come out and names are named...It is funny that after all this years we finally come full circle to the first hypothesis, that of the Great Conspiracy hatched by the US government itself.. That hypothesis was rejected as being too outlandish, to be replaced by more acceptable thesis: CIA, Mafia, FBI, oil barons, or whatever. Now Mr DOUGLAS apparently delivers the good, whith a short (and often repetitive, in my view) book based on secret documents entrusted to him by a former high ranking CIA official. If those papers are true (and there lies my only reservation: how can we be sure?)we indeed have the answers to all the questions, notably the classic "such a conspiracy would require the participation of too many people inside and outside the governement". Well, if the Government itself did it...Personnally, I am inclined to think the docs are genuine, since they verify informations available from other sources, for instance the HARVEY Papers (which can be found in "Bloody Treason")describing the logistics of what could well be the bueprint to the JFK hit. I hope researchers in the US check this rapidly and let us know of the validity of the documents A must for every concerned citizen...

This review is from: Regicide: The Official Assassination of John F. Kennedy (Hardcover)
Getting hooked on the JFK assassination story as a kid watching Geraldo in 1975, I have read over thirty books on the subject. Some that made sense, some that were fiction (posner). What this book does is put alot of the various information into context. So much of what has been written over the years gets pushed aside by the mainstream media because the fingers were being pointed in so many differant directions. The mafia did it, or the cubans, or the texans. This could go on and on. This story shows that some or all of the groups often blamed for the murder, either were involved or at least knew that it was going to take place. If the documents in this story stand up then this is the smoking gun that everybody has been looking for. This is the first book that starts from the top down.It looks at who got the ball rolling . What is a surprise is that the source of the documents, Robert Crowley till the day he died, thought that the murder was justified. This is required reading for anybody that has been following the case as it shows that sooner than later the truth will come out. I just hope that the mainstream media tells the story so that people will finally realize the truth.

I have read this book three times and loved it better each time I did so. I have been recommending this to all of my friends and correspondants who are fascinated with the Kennedy Assassination subject. Almost all of these people have read the book and found it to be way and beyond the best, most factual and believable book yet writted. Some of these people, on the other hand, are furious with it. These are writers, at one level or another, who have published, or wish to publish, their own ideas of what happened in Dallas on November 22, 1963. A lot of these studies, and books, are outlandish, convoluted and very intense, a good discription of many of their authors. Actual examples of these odd ideas, sent to me under conditions of privacy (their names were never to be mentioned to a soul): Ruby was a Freemason; a Mafia member; a Mossad agent. Kennedy was shot 3-6-9-11 times with various calibers of guns; by "sabot" shells, rifles camouflaged as cameras and umbrellas and so on. Nixon, the Hunt family and J. Edgar Hoover were all in Dallas that day, watching the shooting from some unspecified nearby building. Platoons of CIA agents and Mafia dons were crowding around Dealy Plaza disguised as tramps and railroad workers. Of course there is never any documentation supplied on all of these labored theories and I guess that a book filled with documentation is reproach to their ideas. Actually, the truth is always found in the simplest answer and this book clearly expresses as much of the actual, as opposed to the official, truth as we will ever learn. One of my writer friends told me that the author of this book "was obligated to prove" (to him) the "originality" of his ream of his published and supporting official papers. My comment is that the reader who dislikes their obvious authenticity is the person who has to prove there is something wrong with them...other than the obvious fact that the reader's personal opinions (or those of his friends) were stepped on. Incidentially,I found out later that this writer was actually a retired government intelligence agent who, along with his former employers, were outraged at the documented accusations! One of the statements in the official papers shown in the appendix is that the government happly encourages the publication of as many far-fetched books as possible on this subject. The reasons for this are simple: It is strongly hoped that the public (who is always kept in the dark on such things) should get so confused that they will (hopefully) disregard anything that might really expose the actual killers. Again, I cannot speak highly enough of the "Regicide" work and the relentless logic one finds in this landmark work of exposure! Kenneth Spender

An Amazing Book,

This review is from: Regicide: The Official Assassination of John F. Kennedy (Hardcover)
I just finished reading the Regicide book and have read the reviews of it. I would like to add a few comments of my own. I am not really a Kennedy assassination fan. I don't know a great deal about this as it happened before I was born. I, and many of my friends, do believe that the official story is not only not true but is so silly as to be an affront to people...This book came into my hands by accident and I read it at one sitting. I was absolutely shocked by what I found in it and I initially simply did not believe it. But, in talking to a friend of my late father's who was in the CIA, I discovered that it was true. I could accept perhaps another shooter in Dallas or credit the messed up history from the government as the usual bureaucratic stupidity but this book goes well beyond that relatively generous condemnation. I will say that as shocked as I am, I do believe it and the use of dozens of pages of official Governmental reports is enough to shut up even the most noisy pro-Government critic. I currently live in France and I have shown the book to a number of people, one at the Ministerial level in the government, and all of them, without exception, have said that it is about time that the American public learn what all of them allready know and have known for decades. Namely that Kennedy was killed by his own people and not by a "lone nut." It must have been a miracle that these documents survived for all these years in the private files of a top CIA man. Maybe, if we wait long enough, we can find out what really happened in other areas that the Government has so closely hidden. I could not put this book down and have loaned my copy to a friend who also is shocked by it. But, like myself, he too believes it completely. If we cannot trust our "guardians", whom can we trust? Here we have the CIA (at the highest level), the FBI, the NSA, the JCS and most of official Washington "in the know" about this significant event in American history. When one reads this book, one wonders just how many other really evil acts have been subsequently covered up? Again, a very fine, accurate and well-written expose of official misconduct and outrageous coverups...

Truth and the Media,
By walter storch (McLean, VA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Regicide: The Official Assassination of John F. Kennedy (Hardcover)
There have been many books published on the assassination of John Kennedy. All of them but one consist of supposition, theory and opinion. Some are very well written and others are pure nonsense. This new book, Regicide, by Douglas, contains 60 pages of official documentation and, fortunately, none of the usual pictures. This book is very logically and clearly written. Its message is quite simply that Kennedy was killed by order of senior leaders of the CIA because he and his brother, the Attorney General, were in contact with the Soviets and passing what the CIA considered sensitive material to them. It appears that Kennedy, mindful of the dangers of confrontation with a major nuclear power, decided to establish personal contact with Khruschev. He did this through his brother and was able to defuse several serious international crises. By doing this, Kennedy bypassed the CIA and rendered their expensive projects obsolete. This book uses an extensive report by the DIA in 1978 on the Soviet intelligence reports on the assassination. The author has published the entire file of relevant papers, both in the text and in fascimilie. The cover letter to the DIA report is signed by Colonel Driscoll, chief of the Soviet section of that agency. The information contained in this report, which includes the Soviet reports, will come as no surprise to those of us remaining who were privy to the matters covered. This material came from Bob Crowley, the retired deputy director of Clandestine Operations of the CIA and a close friend of many of the plotters. This certainly is a book that should be read and understood by intelligence personnel, historians and concerned Americans. As as added bonus, the Crowley papers published also include a 3,000+ list of names and addresses of known "intelligence sources and personnel" in Europe and the United States. Well-researched, heavily footnoted and massively documented, this book is a real stunner. Walter Storch

The Search for JFK's Killers Is Over!,

Having read most of the books, and the majority of the 4.2 million word Warren Hearings as well as the U.S. House Report, I'll be honest in saying that this book by Greg Douglas is the book that EVERY friggen talk show host & newsman should be on top of!It is chilling and about as a matter of fact as you will ever see on the subject of the 1963 Coup. Official documents let it be known that Kennedy was killed because members of the CIA, his Administration, FBI head J Edgar Hoover and others felt JFK was sellling out to the Russians. Incredible writing and documents tell it ALL! Pedro Fernandez

A Stunner!,
By Carl Huskins (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Regicide: The Official Assassination of John F. Kennedy (Hardcover)
With 40 years of background in the intelligence community, I approached this book with some concern and strong doubts. Now, after having read it through, twice, and talking with a number of my friends, I have to say that this book, REGICIDE by Gregory Douglas, is brilliant, decisive and answers any and all questions I ever had on the tragic events of November 22, 1963. Douglas has taken official documents concerning this terrible business and set them out in a very clear and decisive way that can leave no doubt that this is as close to the truth as we will ever get. It deserves to be read by assassination buffs and casuall readers as well who have been bombarded with hundreds of vague and speculative treatments. It is also a very clear, powerfully presented thesis that has left me stunned. Unlike the famous fake Hitler and Goebbels "diaries" we have seen in the past, this book is as accurate and believable as anything, any official report, that I have ever read. I cannot praise the efforts of Mr. Douglas to get at the truth enough. I think that anyone reading this will want his friends to read it as well. First class exposition all the way around!!Carl Huskins

This book will knock your socks off! Absolutely stunning. This book could very well be a piece of American History, in that it contains copies of the actual documentation of the conspiracy to murder President John F. Kennedy! I could not believe what I was reading, yet there it was...all documented and backed up with proof. It was as if I had secretly gotten into the goverments vault, and looked at the truth about the assassination myself, and in a way.. I did. You can too, and it will be well worth your money. Quite frankly, this may well be one of the most important books in the history of America. It is that good! In this book, you will actually see the documentation of the conspirators, as they met together. You will see the dates that they met, the times that they met, and in many cases what they talked about. Absolutely incredible Book! You will see the very dates when they decided to go through with the assassination plan, and when they decided to do away with earlier and alternate plans to overthrow our government. Finally, the names of the conspirators are told, including the name that the grassy knoll gunman used on his passport! The who, what, where, when, how, and why's are told, and finally, if these documents are true, the JFK assassination Conspiracy is proven beyond any doubt, and the Warren Report and Gerald Posner's "Case closed" book, are exposed as what they are.....the biggest lies in American political history. Enjoy this book. You will want to cry at the truth about what happened, yet jump for joy that the conspiracy has been exposed. You will walk away from this book, but you will never forget it. And may we never forget the day America lost its innocence. The day that our President was killed, and the day that we the people were raped of the truth. The Truth Shall set us free. This book has that truth. God Bless!

This review is from: Regicide: The Official Assassination of John F. Kennedy (Hardcover)
If the documents released in this book are not fakes, then it is most alarming that it didn't get more public attention, because it is an official nuclear bomb.In fact, it proves that JFK was killed by the CIA with knowledge of other high placed persons and authorities. The whole book is a frontal attack on the CIA, written with anger and profound disgust. Disgust with the enormous waste of money on an incompetent Agency (it couldn't prevent the September 11 attack), on its deep implication in drug trafficking, its disastrous analyses, its unending catalogue of instigations of rebellion and civil wars, of terrorism and assassinations. And the final result: the world turned against the US. This book contains other very revealing facts. We know already from other sources that JFK was not a saint, but that 'In Chicago even the death were said to have voted, again, early and often' (p.58) was news for me. This book confirms the thesis of Peter Dale Scott's 'Deep Politics', which suggested that the thugs-of-war behind the crime were to be found in the US power system, a symbiosis of public government, organized crime and private wealth. This book is a very disturbing analysis of one of the boldest, darkest and most important assassinations of all time. It shows that the world is only governed by the elected politicians if they carry out the policies of the real powerful. A must read.

Regicide: The Official Assassination of John F. Kennedy,
This review is from: Regicide: The Official Assassination of John F. Kennedy (Hardcover)
Reading all the available books on the JFK assassination is like watching the movie "Drowning Mona." EVERYONE has a reason and is suspect, though few actually carried it out.I'm afraid that this book only adds to the list of "crack-pot" theories, as Douglas subtly warns. A reference made in his book from an exert of the Driscoll Report mentions that the US Government allows all sorts books criticizing the Warren Commission Report to be published so should the truth be revealed, it will be obscured by lunacy. This book is, however, full of eye-opening material. I also like the references to Posner's book "Case Closed." Douglas is rather tame in countering Posner's claims that "everyone is wrong, I and the Warren Commission are right." Douglas also breaks up his book into three areas: The "official" account, the Driscoll Report, and his own information based on the CIA man Robert T. Crowley. I don't believe Douglas editorializes his information, nor do I think he is sensationlizing the facts. Instead, I believe he is painting a clear-cut picture of events which leads the reader wanting more records opened. This is a must-read and should be read along with "On the Trail of the Assassins," by Jim Garrison, and "Destiny Betrayed," by James DiEugenio. |
