5.0 out of 5 stars thanks for the compliments and smears!
as the designer of the cards I'd just like to say thank to those that like them and thank you too, to the right wingers who hate them, may they be one more nail in your coffin so that we can live in a world free from exploitation, oppression, hunger and misery

Wow, I read a review that said, "This is absoultely ridiculous ... how can amazon actually post this on their site ..... Dearest Mr. Bezos: Either your unamerican or completely unaware and oblivious to what's being sold on amazon -- whichever the case is, you've lost another customer to BarnesAndNobles.com"

5.0 out of 5 stars Left, Right, Left, Right, June 2, 2004

This is a product of the Radical Left! Bush is a product of the Radical Right! The Left has wacky ideas - healthcare, fair wages, fighting wars against enemies that pose an ACTUAL threat. Crazy pinkos.
Don't forget, people, there is an element of fun and satire here.

Interesting.
How dare a bookseller sell a book? How dare he make money on a business he built from the ground up? He's a freakin' businessman! Your opinion reminds me of those who nod at whatever the government says, refuse to rock the boat and think folks who dare express opinions different from yours are equal to terrorists.
It's a freakin' book for god's sake! It's one person's opinion...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great satire, January 10, 2004
This review is from: Regime Change Begins at Home (Cards)
These cards are a great piece of satire. Thankfully we live in a country where we're free to praise, parody and criticize our government in the manner of our own choosing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Funny, December 28, 2003

These are definitely great for a laugh. They may be tasteless, but so were the "Iraq's Most Wanted" cards, and I think that's part of the point. It's a clever way to poke fun at a very baffling--though very creative--bit of military strategy in the war with Iraq ('cause whatever your feelings on the war, you have to admit the playing card idea was a bit unusual), as well as the standard poke-fun-at-Bush aspect. Is it a great achievement in political satire? Not really. But it is amusing, possibly even amusing enough to be worth $7.95.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Truth Hurts, January 25, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Regime Change Begins at Home (Cards)
What I think is funny is that the thin-skinned Neocon whiners didn't register disgust when the Texas Republicans produced a similar deck of cards (of Democrats) during the gerrymandering in the Texas House. As usual, were it not for hypocritical, phony outrage, the Republicans would have no message whatsoever.

Similarly, these same whiners also did not specifically refute or debate any of the information on the "Regime Change" playing cards. I can suppose, perhaps, this is because either have not even looked at the cards. The White House is controlled by Chickenhawks, and corporate criminals. Right now Bill Frists office is under investigation by the Justice Department for hacking into Democratic computers. The truth hurts.

Okay, all of that aside - it's a joke, kids. The cards are funny, factual and scary all at the same time. As Mark Mothersbaugh once said, "I hope we live long enough to laugh at all of this."

2.0 out of 5 stars A little pointless, February 29, 2004

Daniel Saults (Rolla, Missouri United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Regime Change Begins at Home (Cards)
Okay, the whole "Bush is a criminal" thing is an overused and rather trite "viewpoint". However, it doesn't really mean I support his administration. That said, as "cute" as this novelty is, it's ultimately just a bit lacking in purpose. The thing that's surprised me most about this is just the viewer reactions. Apparently, everyone seems to think they're under legal obligation to buy or enjoy everything Amazon recommends to them, when in fact no one even forced them to click the link. The sum of the detractors' argument seems to be "Stop forcing me to click this link." and "Liberals liberals liberals liberals liberals. I'm not saying anything really, I'm just throwing around the word 'liberals' to mean 'people I dislike'." I thought this was about reviewing products, not about reviewing people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wake Up! and Start Thinking!, January 22, 2004
This review is from: Regime Change Begins at Home (Cards)
Proud or Brainwashed! These cards could be your wake up call. Perhaps you could use them in conjunction with Michael Moore's book, "Dude, Where's My Country?"

I wonder about those patriots who support the present regime with out thinking things through. GWB, aka "George the Lesser," gained the office of President as the result of a government coup.

He and his henchmen have demolished as much of the previously legislated social, economic and environmental safeguards as they could, and they are not done yet.

One of my friends, who is permanently disabled, supports this goon. She has no idea that the outcome of her support will be the demolishment of the social security safety net for disabled (and other) Americans. She says that Bush has integrity unlike that of President Clinton. But "W" has no concept of what the word "integrity" means, let alone his much touted phrase "corporate integrity."

We have not yet seen the depths of depravity these folks will strive for. And we are probably going to be taken down into poverty while they get insanely super-rich. Be warned: Prescott Bush financially supported the Nazi's during WWII and his grandson is just a part of that whole element of greed.

Just my $1.98.
