FUN DUETS FROM A FRENCH ICON,

This has been out for a couple of years as of this writing.
There are a host of great duets, with some very famous names. The LA Grande Sophie, Boy George, and Jane Birkin, among others. You know she is Gainsbourg produced. If you can get your hands on the May 2011 ELLE magazine, it features an incredible two page article on Regine, her nightclubs in Paris, New York, Rio, etc. How hard it could be to get in, how all the stars were there. An incredible report on one of the women who was a cornerstone of the 70's disco, 80's new wave revolution. Karl Lagerfield "Mr.Chanel" said she invented night clubbing. The NYC papers called her "The Queen of the Night", (fyi america-Regine is the french word for Queen) yet she never smoked or drink. She herself a business woman, nightclub destination, and cabaret singer. This is the disc with the highly praised and sought after version of "I will survive" in half english, half french. Regine truly makes it her own. This is a fun take on french cabaret. Amazon also carries her other work. Please enjoy. |
