5.0 out of 5 stars Surprise! It's Great!
I bought this album partially as a joke, my family enjoys Christmas albums and we have a variety of them and like to try something new each year. We plugged it into the CD player and went out looking at Holiday lights and we all love it, even my two teenagers. We adored the duets with Joy, what a beautiful voice she has. 2.0 out of 5 stars Another CD for the Golden Throats Bin
Many years ago, Rhino records had the Golden Throats: The Great Celebrity Sing Off collection of actors and entertainers who try to sing (such major examples include william Shatner The Transformed Man, Leonard Nimoy Mr. Spock's Music from Outer Space, and Sebastian Cabot Sebastian Cabot, Actor/Bob Dylan, Poet) ...well this album should join the heap

I love...

I love Regis the talk show host. I love Pasword and Millionare games shows. However when it comes to sing these standard Christmas Carols, MR " I Am Only One Man" should stay as a talk show host. He may do a night club act, but this does not translate to this CD

These twelve Christmas carol seems a waste of CD space (Sorry Rege!) .He does get a little help from his family and friends, but it dont really help much. He has his wife Joy in an offkeyed 'Baby its Cold Outside'. He has Donald "You're Fired " Trump on Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" (you know Rudy was not fired!) and Steve Tyrell on ;Marshallow World'. So where is Kathie or Kelly when you need them Big Daddy?

Regis does like most actor who try to be singers. He speaks the words like a poem. It is nice that he speaks in his Regis style. His voice as a non singer isnt bad, just its not singing

Well Uncle Rege (he seems to be everyone UNCLE), lets not do a CD of your favorite Irish tunes, OKAY?

5.0 out of 5 stars I want some more I want some more!, December 6, 2005

If you have been looing for the definitive Christmas album you're in the right place! Regis's ubiquitious voice can not be heard on everyones CD player and the glorious sounds will fill your life with the true spirit of the holiday season. Don't believe me? thought you might not... try it! His voice is a true gem on its own, one-of-a-kind in a generation of mass produced stars, Regis really stands out among the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recipe For A Great Holiday Album, November 17, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Regis Philbin Christmas Album (Audio CD)
1. Take a very successful talk show host,
2. Add a dash of Lovin Joy,
3. Add a pint of Donald Trump with a mix of Steve Tyrell,
4. Bring it down to a boil,
5. Serve with warm holiday cheer,
America's favorite talk show host Regis Philbin delivers a wonderful Christmas cd that's sure to bring you tons of Christmas cheer and warm your heart. Starting with the wonderful new track Where Do We Go For Christmas that is sure to be the best track on radio stations this year. Regis's wife Joy {or as I like to call her Lovin Joy} sings with Reege on wonderful versions of Baby It's Cold Outside and Joy sings very fantastic {Wonder If Lovin Joy will make a album someday?} My personal fave track is Reege's silly version of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer with the one and only Donald Trump. Even Though I don't watch The Apprentice much it is great to see Trumpster ham it up with Regis in their first duet together. And RudolphThe Red Nosed Reindeer will replace Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer as the classic holiday anthem this year. If you are a giant Regis nut and need some holiday cheer make Regis's album the one to have,
Happy Holidays and Enjoy

4.0 out of 5 stars Merry Christmas, December 27, 2005
This review is from: Regis Philbin Christmas Album (Audio CD)
I saw Regis sing Marshmallow World with Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show on CBS and decided then to get the album. (even though Craig is not actually on this album) It's one of my favorite songs though apparently less well known to just about everyone I mentioned it to! In any case the album has a nice nostalgic feel to it and the selection of songs included are nice sing-along and feel-good Christmas music. Regis' voice is just okay but comfortable to join in with, and Joy's voice is beautiful. I love the album. (Here's hoping Craig puts out one of his own next year instead of just singing with all his guests: Reege, RZA, Brian McKnight et al!!!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice Christmas album, December 25, 2005
This review is from: Regis Philbin Christmas Album (Audio CD)
Regis Philbin's Christmas album is so very nicely done. I like the orchestra, the production by Steve Tyrell and the lush sound given to the songs. He had to have been inspired by Dean Martin, since he prefers that kind of music over the current pop artists that perform on his daytime talk show. The best song is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas--that had to have been over 4 minutes or so because it's so comfortable. It would sound so good when snow is falling on Christmas. On Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, he even has billionnaire Donald Trump speaking on there--at least they didn't have him singing on the song. The song ends with Bon Jovi-like anthemic shouts of the background singers singing Hey Rudolph, as Regis mentions famous New York personalities like the New York Yankees, A-Rod, his Live cohorts Kelly Ripa and Gelman and others. Regis' wife Joy sings on two songs, of which Baby It's Cold Outside is the better one. The other one, Joy just doesn't connect well to the song. Most numbers, Regis sounds good, but on the last song, The Christmas Song, he sounds completely dull and bland. Only Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby can sing that song the best. This is going to be another Christmas album that will be played for a long time--it just fits well with the Christmas mood of the holiday.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Christmas Music!, December 24, 2005

Boy what a bunch of Scrooges! This isn't Grammy material but it's such fun to listen to. I love Christmas music and although Regis isn't Placido Domingo, he has a sweet, pleasant voice as does Joy. I loved "Marshmallow World," and "Rudolph."

I smiled throughout the entire CD. Happy Holidays!

2.0 out of 5 stars Sheer Delight For Ultimate Christmas Cheeze!, November 21, 2006
This review is from: Regis Philbin Christmas Album (Audio CD)
"Did you know that before he became a famous television icon that Regis Philbin had a nightclub act?" -So states an Amazon Editorial. No Shidding Sherlock!? Yes, Regis Philbin is a professional singer and made something of a living doing so. However, this is such saccharine dribble, you will either find yourself in a sugar-induced coma or in a ceramic bowl emptying the contents of your stomach. The second 'star' for this review is for pure unashamed audacity for putting out a Christmas album of homely standards and then being surprised that he did such a deed. Yes, there is a Santa Claus in Regis's world and its scarier than a charred reindeer stuck in your chimney on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas, Satan Claus.
