About the Author

Randal Churchill, Founder and Director of the Hypnotherapy Training Institute, is known as "The Teacher of the Teachers." He has taught his pioneering regression work to thousands of therapists over three decades and trained many of the state-approved hypnotherapy instructors in the United States. This is easily the best text on the subject and practice of regression therapy that I have ever read - a must for the library of any practicing or prospective hypnotherapist or counseling professional. It is surely destined to be a classic.

I had the honor of receiving my training in hypnotherapy from Randal Churchill at the Hypnotherapy Training Institute, many years ago. Reading actual transcripts and commentary of sessions in this book now was like being back in class to observe in person Randal's exquisite timing and intuitive sensitivity while demonstrating his transformational regression work. Having been in practice now for many years myself, I can say that this book has really reinforced my hypnotherapy and regression skills and my own dedication to the profound potential of this work.

In addition to the invaluable explanations of actual sessions, I found early chapters covering the theory and practice of processes like gestalt and ideomotor methods for use with regression to be a great refresher course - clear and readable enough for beginners as well. This book is packed with priceless information that I haven't seen anywhere else, such as Churchill's 15 steps in emotional clearing regression.

Another favorite chapter was Churchill's very balanced and well researched account of recovered memories, in which he discusses the controversies and extremes on both sides. His insights bring common sense and neutrality deeper into the equation, and turn the recovery of memories into a science as well as an art.

Having had the advantage of training with Churchill, it is a delight to see this text in print - and to realize that as skilled and dedicated as I found him to be many years ago, his skill and dedication have continued to grow and inspire. This book is not only well worth reading, but essential to anyone desiring an inside look at the work and wisdom of an exceptional instructor and writer who has been teaching for more than a quarter of a century. His work only gets better.

I highly "suggest" this book for all hypnotherapists interested in the process of regression and the possibilities of radical healing implied in the transcripts. This is NOT a book for those interested in past-life regression, but intended for those clients interested in healing underlying causes and secondary gains issues. Very helpful for those who have not gotten what they wanted out of direct suggestion hypnosis. Mr. Churchill's style of therapy is warm,friendly,engaging, and at times sweetly humorous. He challenges his clients to bravely confront the past while soothing them with his intuitive and supportive style. More geared for the advanced hypnotherapist, or those who would like to advance their training in the future.....
