REGRETS ONLY
At thirty-three, Suzanne Hamilton has it all. A successful party-planning business with an elite client list. A swank condo in a hot Atlanta neighborhood and a close group of friends – especially her longtime best friend Marci. A list of men a mile long who have tried to win her heart and failed. Plus, she’s just landed the event that will take her career and social status to the next level. What could she possibly have to regret?

Then a freak accident changes everything, and Suzanne discovers that her near-perfect life is just a few steps away from total disaster. She is humiliated and at risk of losing it all… except the surprising support of her newest celebrity client. With nothing else to go on, Suzanne follows him into an unexpected job and unfamiliar territory. 4.0 out of 5 stars Emotional and Sweet... January 18, 2014
By Cori
Format:Paperback
Regrets Only by M.J. Pullen is the second book in The Marriage Pact series and while I didn’t love the first book, I absolutely adored Regrets Only! I won’t lie; in the beginning Suzanne sort of put me off with her inner thoughts and attitude about certain things. She seemed judgmental and a bit petty at times, but she grows on you. Throughout the story we get to see a lot of different sides of Suzanne and the more I got to know her, the more I liked her.

Chad was awesome, funny and a great contrast to Suzanne. Their characters sort of balanced each other out. One thing I really liked about Suzanne was the fact that she was such a strong character. She owned her own business, supported herself, was successful and she didn’t settle for just anyone. Suzanne was different from a lot of main female characters and I loved that about her.

I loved that emotions and being committed to someone was hard for her. Typically in stories like these the women are falling all over handsome rich men and that’s just not the case here, which makes Regrets Only all the more interesting.
Pullen is a very good story teller. Her writing is phenomenal and her plots are well thought out and well executed. The characters in this book were great. There were so many that I liked especially Dylan. I loved him from the very first second he entered the story on that phone call. He made me grin, but he also made me want to slap him.

Grrr Misty. Enough said. He was there for Suzanne though at several points throughout the book and Dylan was the reason we finally starting seeing a soften side of Suzanne and understanding that there was more to her than muted judgments. One of my favorite moments in this book was the talk Suzanne had with Kate up in the mountains.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, entertaining, fast-paced July 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of M.J. Pullen's sequel to The Marriage Pact and I was not disappointed!
From the opening chapter, I was hooked. I couldn't wait to follow Suzanne on her journey. Just what would happen with Dylan Burke? A surprising twist in the middle of the book kept me turning the page! I couldn't put it down. The characters are well developed and I feel as if I know them (or at least want to know them!) Pullen's attention to detail is amazing and really puts the reader in the locations of the characters. A well written, fun read!
Will there be a book three in the series? I hope so!

4.0 out of 5 stars I was very impressed August 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was drawn to this book because, even with 19 reviews, it averaged five stars. I am a picky reviewer, tough grader, and seldom give 4 stars. However, not only is the author a very good story teller, everything in this novel was very good--plot, characterization, believability of obstacles, dialogue, level of detail, sympathetic characters, no slow/boring parts, no excessive expressions of internal longing/self-doubt, etc. I could identify with the h, remembering all the years when my friends claimed I was too picky in who I went out with and that I didn't date anyone long enough to know if it might have worked out.(Yeah, right.) We understand what holds these two apart--an issue that is often the weakest part of contemporary romances. Suzanne is afraid of getting involved in a serious relationship to begin with (for some understandable reasons) and she is intimidated because the H is significantly younger, rich and famous, and has women throwing themselves at him. Then, too, she isn't even sure of his interest because he isn't panting after her like most men. And, we understand why he is intimidated: she is not just beautiful but her background, deportment, and style are way out of his league, she goes through men like tissues, she is strong and independent (as opposed to the groupies he usually associates with), and she doesn't show a clear sign she is interested in him. I liked it that, for a change, instead of an h who has had only one or a couple of lovers (and rather poor ones at that), the h has had the level of sexual experience that is usually only acceptable for an H. Overall, a very good job. This may not get on an all-time great books list with Gone With the Wind, but I'd be surprised if you didn't enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A rare five star book August 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was excellent. I read her first book and quickly downloaded the sequel. I was not disappointed. I really hope she builds on these characters with the same writing style. The book was a perfect length and I couldn't put it down, which is rare for a book these days.

I want to read about the big event and have some closure to the other story lines so I hope she is furiously writing to provide us another book in this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent second book from MJ Pullen! Loved it! September 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I absolutely loved reading this book. Throughout the first book in the series, The Marriage Pact, Suzanne always seemed as though she was running from something. And in this book we get to find out what that is. We also get to see what a fantastic person she is and how much strength she has. She's beautiful. I don't want to give away the story, but I will say that after everything she goes through, she absolutley deserves someone who loves her with so much passion and understanding. Not that she made it easy, but then neither did he. Two of a kind, I'd say. I liked the fact that we not only got to know more people in this book, but that we got to catch up with the cast of characters from The Marriage Pact too. Books like these are the reason I love reading series; so you can catch up with old friends.

More About the Author

M.J. Pullen (Manda) is a mom of two, professional counselor (currently inactive), consultant and - perhaps obviously - an author. Manda writes contemporary women's fiction, and is experimenting with other genres. She has also written non-fiction, self-help, magazine articles, and a series of English comprehension workbooks for students in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Manda became a Jew-by-choice in order to marry the best man on the planet and live out her long-standing destiny as a Jewish mother. She is astonishingly happy and still manages to complain quite a bit, mostly in blog form.

Manda studied English Literature and Business, among other things, at the University of Georgia in Athens. She has also attended Texas State University and Georgia Sate University while studying to become a counselor. She lives in the Atlanta, Georgia area with her husband, two sons, an old cat and quite a lot of dying plants.
