First, i don't think they really keep a drink cold.

If you don't want to dilute your drink, just put your ice in a condom.

They just don't work. Go outside, feel how cold a rock is, put it in your drink, and that's exactly how long it takes for these to warm up. Don't buy rocks. Please don't buy rocks. You shouldn't need to tell someone not to buy rocks, but, sadly, someone should have told me. So now, I'm telling you. Don't buy rocks.

Like some of the other reviews, was excited about cooling a neat bourbon without diluting with ice. Unfortunately, the rocks don't live up to the promise. Even after days in the freezer they barely cooled the drink at all. Buy them if you want something different. Don't, if you expect them to actually work.

I purchased these as a gift for my husband (plus I get to use them too!) They are a good size, work well and don't change the flavor of the scotch at all. They work best in a 'rocks' glass; neither of us cared for using them with snifters or Glencairn glasses. My husband like using them, but I do prefer my scotch with a touch of water, so I'd rather have an ice cube.

All in all, great price, good value, nice case to contain them in the freezer, great addition to a scotch-themed birthday gift.

I received these rocks quickly and was very excited to use them as soon as possible. I placed them in the freezer for a few hours and then placed them in a whiskey glass. When I first grabbed them I was impressed with just how cold they were, but quickly became disappointed by their performance. I went as far as putting 5 in a glass and it only slightly cooled the drink. That being said, the rocks were slightly colder than room temperature for about an hour, but nowhere near enough to actually chill the drink.

Pros: Look nice, come in a nice box for storage
Cons: do not keep drink cold

Do not buy this garbage product. My sweet, thoughtful girlfriend bought these for me because I take down scotch like Ron Burgandy. I was pretty excited about it...was vaguely familiar with the idea, thought it was an awesome gift. I might as well go in my backyard and grab some rocks to put in my drink. Jamming 4 of these things into a 2-3 ounce drink produces a slightly cooler temperature for about 5 minutes. All the propaganda states they hold their temperature for an hour, that is bullsh. These things are worthless. I don't get on the internet to rant about bad products, first timer, but you can't take your feedback to them because their stupid website doesn't give you any way to do that. Bunch of con-artist cowards. I would gladly trade my set of 9 in for a bag of ice right now. I've never been less satisfied with a product. What a ripoff. Zero stars.

I really wanted to like this product; however, it simply DOES NOT WORK. Sadly, I was duped out of 20.00. As another reviewer had noted, this company does not have a "contact us" page. They do have a number to contact, (not a 1-800), but it is for their soapstone sinks/slabs. I guess they saw this as a quick way to recycle their remnants at the consumers' expense. Do not beleive other reviews that claim this product works. You will be very disappointed. Instead, save your money to use towards another bottle of whiskey, wine etc....then *simply go outside, grab some free rocks, sterilize, place in freezer and add to your favorite beberage. Hmmm...sounds like a great idea for a product!
* Disclaimer: this should really not be tried as you may choke!

My husband purchased these, one set for himself and one for a family friend. They are absolutely useless. They look so wonderful, don't they? Well here's the facts. For the first time, he rinsed them as directed, put them in the freezer four hours, then tried them in a glass of water. He could taste them. Not very nice. And how do they work? They do virtually nothing. We did some research and discovered why. It's all very technical, but it has to do with the energy required for heating and cooling things, and two ice cubes can lower a room temperature drink by about 18 degrees celsius (that's from room temperature down to just above freezing point). Two stones, on the other hand, only make a drink 3 degrees cooler. It means you would need 12 stone cubes in your drink to cool it down. Unfortunately your whiskey glass hasn't got room for 12 stone cubes. Do not waste your money. They look like a cool idea, but they just don't work.

The seller inaccurately described these. the seller should say:These stones couldn't cool a dead body or help heat one either! They are an absolute WASTE of money. I took temperature readings before and during the addition of these to a hot cup of coffee and a cold glass of ginger ale; results....... they did NOTHING to help the temperature of either. Don't waste your money
