5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome song
I find Amy very annoying as a person but I can't deny how talented she is. I just love this song.

2.0 out of 5 stars And The Grammy Goes To... THIS???
Our tabloid crazed society, celebrities go in and out of rehab like some people go in and out of church. And when crazed celebs like Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan are going to rehab every other week in feeble attempts to make themselves better people, a culture is created for a song like this. Not about celebrities going to rehab mind you (that's a punk rocker's job)...

4.0 out of 5 stars Celebrity Rehab, February 21, 2008

Amy Winehouse has come across the Pond (albeit virtually for the Grammys),storming the shores of the former colonies with her massive black beehive hairdo. She's brought her husky voice, her retro stylings, and her legion of tattoos. Winehouse's "Rehab" is her biggest hit,and rightly so.

"Rehab" is a song about drug abuse&denial. Winehouse sings in her smoky voice,"They want me go to rehab. But I tell them no,no,no." Her backup band evokes the doo-wop era. Since Winehouse is "retro with an edge",it's not exactly a squeaky clean sock hop. She's channeling the Ronettes, but their darker side. It's not "come be my baby" but "come be my baby&deal with my dope." Winehouse,in a sense,is a British Billie Holiday, with the same issues. She's making the past present&intoxicating audiences with her song.

I was not originally an Amy W fan, as I had not been introduced to and had not heard any of her musical work until her untimely death. After listening to this song, as well as others, I appreciate her unique talent. This song is one of her hits, and I enjoy it thoroughly. Happy with my purchase of Amy's "Rehab."

4.0 out of 5 stars Rehabilitating Amy, November 4, 2007
This review is from: Rehab (MP3 Download)
When it has come to new acts this past year, Amy Winehouse, an export from the U.K. really did know how to bring out the high note. Her debut album, Back To Black has really made a staple for new songs in R&B young and old. Her second single, Rehab really proves that well. The song is one of the most upbeat traditional soul songs I've heard this past year. It brings the vibes of Doo Wop, and 60's soul very well with the modern style of today's music. If you haven't heard the song yet, you don't know what you're missing out on. It sure beats anything that Britney Spears anyday.

Song: B 1/2+

Amy Winehouse writes great songs and sings them with passion. I like this song a lot. Smokey voice, interesting lyrics. Highly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars And The Grammy Goes To... THIS???, February 23, 2008
This review is from: Rehab (MP3 Download)
Our tabloid crazed society, celebrities go in and out of rehab like some people go in and out of church. And when crazed celebs like Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan are going to rehab every other week in feeble attempts to make themselves better people, a culture is created for a song like this. Not about celebrities going to rehab mind you (that's a punk rocker's job) but about a rehabber not wanting to go, from their prospective. This wreak of a singer has an overrated bluesish voice that only sounds barley palatable if heavily edited in a studio, but hear her in an acoustic setting, and oh, my, gosh... most plane crashes have less horrors. And that's really the only thing about the song that makes it bad, Mrs. Winehouse; her and her voice.

However, if you happen to find the Girls Aloud cover that they did on the Live Lounge, then you get past that, and you actually have a compelling, well-sung song.

So, recapping.

Amy Winehouse's Rehab: F- (If there was such a thing.)

Girls Aloud's Rehab: A

The song is ok, but you have to love her voice! I have a gift certificate and found out the hard way you CAN'T use their own gift certificate for music purchases!! Does that make sense?? Typical, this site will not survive as they limit TOO many songs to album only purchases...
