Intriguing murder mystery,
By A Customer
This review is from: Rehearsal for Murder (DVD)
One of the best made-for-TV movies I've seen. A Broadway playwright tries to catch his wife's murderer by staging a play that is designed to reveal the murderer's identity. A marvelous film with many twists and turns written by Richard Levinson and William Links, who also made the equally fabulous "Guilty Conscience" and "Murder by Natural Causes." The DVD has good picture and sound quality.

Great mystery from the creators of Columbo!,

This is one of the best TV mysteries I've ever seen. Non-mystery fans may consider the setup preposterous, but the directive "buy the premise, buy the bit" applies here. It wasn't impressive till the end, then all became clear. If you love Levinson & Link mysteries, like the movie Murder By Natural Causes, or the TV serieses (plural?) Columbo or Columbo's descendant Murder She Wrote, you'll enjoy the twists in the plot. Just like you have to be a PeeWee Herman fan to like PeeWee Herman movies, this is a classic mystery for true mystery lovers.

This movie pleased me because Lynn Redgrave is such a good actress and the rest of the cast is also fine. The story isn't excessively violent and the plot has an unexpected twist.
