A Toasty Title...,
This review is from: Reign of Fire (Video Game)
My first thought of a game for Reign of Fire was like what a waste, but after some thinking I decided to rent it. And for that I'm actually quite happy I did. The creators of this game did a fantastic job. They added some pretty neat features included with the game like a music Video and concept art.Another nice feature about this game is you get to play the dragons. After of course beating a couple of levels. Well, here's my rating. My comment: I would rent it to get a good feel for the game before buying it.

This will burn your PS2 !,

Graphics are so smooth !!! now you know how powerful your PS2 is. Play as a human is good enough but it's even cooler !!! to play as a dragon . You can fly freely to destroy all the planes and trucks. The textures of the dragon are as good as what you see in the movie ! Don't be stunted by the graphics !! the harrier will shoot you down !!!(^_^)

What an experience!,

Reign of Fire is a fantastic game! It has great graphics and intense gameplay. The developers have created a fantastic sense of battlefield carnage and chaos against marauding dragons. In latter levels, YOU get to be a marauding dragon! There are some things you need to know about the controls, which has gotten some bad press. The default is "simple" control configuration. Change this before you even start playing! In this configuration, you aim AND steer with the left thumbstick, and accelerate and decelerate with A and B. The right thumbstick does nothing. We will get nowhere with this set-up. On the other hand, the "advanced" set-up steers with the left thumbstick, and aims with the right. This makes the controls very intuitive. Another thing you might want to do is turn down the auto-aim to zero. Otherwise, the aiming cursor does a lot of drifting, which can be very annoying and make it more difficult. I have very few complaints about the game. The dialogue can get quite repetitive at time, such as when you are not in the spot you need to be. You hear the same sentence repeated multiple times.

Very disappointing,

The idea of the storyline of Reign of Fire is interesting to say the least, and in a video game it should seem like a mindnumbingly fun idea. This PS2 version of Reign of Fire however, is extremely disappointing, and is just another movie licensed game to be added to the garbage heap. You get to drive around in a number of different vehicles while shooting hordes of swooping dragons, and eventually after finishing the human campaign, you can then choose to play as a dragon and lay fire down on helpless humans. While this all sounds like a fanboy's dream on paper, the game's execution nearly falls flat on its face. The controls are buggy and unresponsive whether your in the human or dragon campaign, and while the graphics are great and all, there is a lot of slowdown when there is a lot of on-screen action. The little bit of fun that can be had with Reign of Fire is laying waste to the dragons (the control and feel when playing as a dragon feels like your playing as a flying brick) and just mowing down anything in site, and after a while, you'll get bored with the repititious and tedious gameplay. All in all, fans of the film may want to give this a look, but all others should head for the hills.

This game is unbelievably awesome from the graphics to the storyline. If you liked the movie you'll like the game. If you like the game you'll like the movie (most likely).

fasten your controler because it will be flying. Hurl fireballsto the earths crust and humans. Or be a human and fight the dragons with tons of vehicles and weapons. The aiming is bad but who cares with the fire effects and fun you are set.

When games are made from movies there pretty good, except for this one. If You Like Becoming A Dragon And Blowing Up EveryThing In Site, Buy It. But The Story Mode Lacks Intrest. 2 Stars. Rent It.

Trying to target the dragons in this game was increadibly frustrating. Could not get past the dragons in level three. Complete garbage, no fun what so ever. Would not even recommend renting this game.
