This video is to be used with Barbara Emerson's Self-Healing Reiki book. The two together will give you the knowledge and the necessary attunement needed to bring Reiki into your life and begin using it for self-healing and healing others. The tape is very simple - just two people going through the Reiki 1 Attunement. That's all that is needed. I was able to feel and use Reiki immediately after viewing the tape, and I've found that repeating the video Attunement hightened and enhanced my ability to feel this incredible energy. I definitely plan to continue with this home study course and take the Level 2 and Level 3 video attunements, as well. I recommend this HIGHLY. Reiki will bring joy and wonder into your life! (And if you live with animal companions, you'll find that they absolutely LOVE this energy.)

I am a Reiki/Master teacher and Reiki is a truly wonderful healing and self growth modality. Experiencing an attunement is a very special gift. The video is very helpful and I believe that it can attune a person based on certain attunement methods. I suggest that if you are curious and possibly afraid of being around other people during the attunement or are concerned about the money. This may be a way for you to do it. However, there are many FREE reiki organizations that will attune you. A real you, a person, not the idea of someone buying the tape. Also, in the last few years more accurate and truthful Reiki information has been discovered in Japan. Most of the history we have used previously was inaccurate. Much of the information on Dr Usui was wrong and has now been proven. Look into Reiki Fire by Frank Arjava Petter or information from Reiki.org (William Lee Rand). And Diane Stein has great info..even though some of her history is the old untrue history.

I read Barbara Emerson's book, which is, in itself, a very informative book. It speaks to alot of interesting and unique issues associated with Reiki. But, being a Reiki Master/Teacher, I do not agree with the sacred process being filmed and used to attune people in the privacy of their own homes without a Master/Teacher presense. The attunement process is very emotional and the connection that takes place during that process is profound. I highly recommend reading her book, and learning all the hand positions/symbols/etc. that she details but I disagree with buying a video to be attuned. That is something you will want to do in person with the Master/Teacher of your choice.

I am a reiki junkie/Master-Teacher, though I consider reiki MY tool for self-development. I bought this book and sold it as soon as I read it once. Why? There are many books that have come out now that are superb and give you better/correct information. Diane Stein is still the best. If you want to learn something right, get the right materials. This one is not it, however well-written it is. Reiki has its roots in the East and when a student learns healing or a mantra in the East, a Guru is an essential part of the dynamic. Anything else is cheating yourself of the experience and the lesson. There are free teachers available. Ask and you shall receive, although payment is only an exchange of energy, since all things in yoga have to be in balance. You may have an "experience" when you watch a video, but that is not it folks. When you get attuned, get the real thing. Money is not everything, the experience is.
