As a Fourth Level Reiki Master I was skeptical about teaching a four year old Reiki. However after reading "Reiki For Children" and seeing the children who trained from this book in action, my skepticism disappeared and I honor these wonderful children for a job well done. This book is the most comprehensive childrens book on Reiki I have ever read. It is wonderfully illustrated, and masterfully written. Any child will benefit from this acurately composed work. Kytka Jezek is a gentle, sensitive and feminine guide through the initial steps for the practice of Reiki. This book is a wonderful intro for children (and adults) to the world of Reiki.
The entire book is truly a well thought out volume. My 12 year young son and I so enjoyed her whimsical explanation of the chakras and the meditations are, yes, absolutely a magical transport.

I know Kytka from the Waldorf Homeschoolers Site. I knew very little of Reiki and raw foods before purchasing this ebook. What led me to purchase this particular book was the gentle and effective way Kytka expresses herself with the written word. This makes it all the much easier for a newbie like myself to take on new ways of thinking and doing things. Another thing that drew me to this book was the photographs she chose to use. Just seeing her children actually doing what she was writing about makes you want to learn how your children too can use their energy for good rather than evil.
Kytka offers a beginner a gentle read into the background of Reiki with tips on how you and your children can integrate this form of healing in your lives. She is also a Reiki Master which enables her to atune you (qualify you) during the different stages of attunement.
I enjoyed this book and have shared it with my husband who was also a bit interested in this form of healing. As an added plus, you do not have to spend $1,000's of dollars on your attunement-- Kytka offers it all to you at a very reasonable cost and nearly free of charge.(less purchase of book/ebook)

I have just completed "Reiki For Children" and found it to be a very comprehensive, complete study for children. Having spent my time teaching Reiki to Masters, of other studies, I found myself extremely impressed with the ability of the children trained through this introductory book. I really enjoyed this book. It is an amazing resource of information for both Reiki as well as the importance of eating raw foods. I would recommend this product to anyone who'd wish to teach Reiki to small children.

As someone with a deep interest in holistic health, I found Reiki for Children a beautifully written and insightful experience. Each chapter is broken into easily understandable concepts and shared with colorful imagery that even the youngest can grasp. I have started sharing the concepts of reconnection found in the early chapters of the book with my 4.5 year old daughter, and we both savor our quiet time in nature to reconnect and absorb. I look forward to sharing the rest of this inspiring book with my daughter and connecting to the healing power available to all of us.

Reiki For Children was originally conceived as a text book for teaching children Reiki, but as author Kytka Hilmar-Jezek reflected on her manual, she decided it would serve more people if presented as a stand-alone piece. Written from the heart, Hilmar-Jezek hones in on the importance of teaching children Reiki, if possible, while they are still young enough that they have not started to develop negative thought patterns and before their creativity and sense of wonder are squelched, which can often occur merely as a result of the growing up process.

This 135 page book is filled with great affirming quotations that help children understand from an early age their value, and the values that Reiki teaches. It's written in a tone that makes it suitable for reading to children, while seeking to tackle complex issues like connection to the universe, the chakra system and the impact of our thoughts. Many of these concepts lie outside the realm of Reiki, like the author's use of angels and heaven as a way to describe what many call Source, or the Great White Light, which may resonate with children and help them understand more easily concepts that many adults struggle with, but not being an expert on the developmental stages of children and their comprehension, I'm not sure how well different age groups will integrate esoteric/new age/holistic side topics like spirit guides, auras, crystals and the benefits of a raw diet, especially if they have not previously been exposed to them.

Sections are devoted to the symbols, the attunement process, a Reiki treatment (complete with photos of hand positions), methods like scanning, and grounding ones' self and there is ample room at the end for note taking.

Reiki history students may take issue with the story of "Dr." Usui and the founding of Reiki, as it does not coincide with what current reasearch has shown, but by and large, the book is a valuable tool for those who looking for help explaining some of Reiki's concepts to children.

Reiki For Children is a self-help guide for children to enable them to understand the energy that is all around them.

Reiki (pronounced, RAY KEY) is a learning tool to help your children better understand the natural healing process by "tapping" into their own energy force. By enabling this flow they will better understand themselves and will have a greater sense of generosity, love, happiness, creativity, compassion to name a few.

The reader will be shown how to connect with the Universal Life Force and how to direct it to do healing and loving thoughts and projections.

Children are often better recipients to the Universal Force as they are, as of yet, bogged down by the daily stresses in life. They haven't yet began to carry the baggage that makes them second guess their own nature. Children, for the most part, have a natural ability to go with the flow and bounce back from events that happen in their lives. It is this simple innocence that allows them to be natural Reiki masters if they are given the proper techniques to practice with.

The methods written within this book would never harm anyone who would wish to practice its methods. This is an art that is only meant to share love, to heal and to cleanse. The comprehensive lessons listed within are easy and straight forward and will help increase your own abilities.

I thought this was a well written book. And though it's stated its for children, I believe anyone reading it would benefit from its message. I have been reading it to my children and helping them to understand the concepts given. They have been willing participants in each lesson we have accomplished and look forward to continued practice.

The pictures that are shared with the reader helped to visualize what methods were being shown. It gave you a sense of being correct in showing the reader how to properly place their hands and move them along the body. The children look dedicated to the task at hand and it encourages you to do your best.

This is a very informative book as it explains the chakras, meditation, how to ground yourself and so many other interesting pieces of knowledge that will give you a well rounded view on the Reiki technique.

I highly suggest finding a quiet place to practice and keep your being centered. The grounding technique really keeps you balanced and joined to the methods being used.
