As a Reiki Master/Practitioner and a massage therapist I am constantly searching for music to set the tone for my sessions. I have many CDs but keep coming back to this one. My clients always ask for it when given a choice and question where is it when I try something else! I use this also when I am doing attunements as it is so spiritual. (I am sure I can hear the names of the symbols in the music.) I own several of Deuter's CDs but this is the Best!

I like the new direction Deuter is taking with his new recording "Reiki: Hands of Light". Filled with spatial piano, a-temporal synthetizer layers and harp-like sounds, the soundscape of "Reiki" is rather caring than dominating to the ear. Keyboards' melodies are subtle and flow like undercurrents in your mind, imbued with life energy. "Reiki" is ambient music that heals you from the inside-out and embraces your whole room. I always go back to it when I want to reconcile myself to the shadows of the past. The opening piece "Loving Touch" is particularly supportive because the piano melody is clearly stated, and the synthetizer background layers help create a psychological state close to maternal love. Deuter leaves also more space between the notes in his keyboard compositions to infuse a subtle life energy (Reiki) into our body, mind and soul. This is a very peaceful and intimate CD, which is meant to relax you and help you see clearer on a darker day. In my opinion, "Reiki" is one of Deuter's nicest albums which reaches the reflective quality of Ray Lynch and Harold Budd's ambient tapestries.

I have used many new age albums for stress reduction, meditation and healing. Reiki: hands of light is an incredible experience and the best album I have used so far. I found it best to play this album at a louder than normal level. Increasing the Bass level of your system will allow you to feel this music. For healing others, yourself, or just reducing your stress to zero try this CD. Thirty minutes of peace with your eyes closed with this music will alter your state of consciousness in a positive way that may change your life.

I love this cd but my husband found the piano notes at the beginning intrusive when I was doing a Reiki session on him. Other than that, it is a wonderful cd and one I often use for my personal Reiki sessions.

Words cannot describe the beauty and simplicity of the tracks on this CD. Deuter has made music that is ambient and magical. The music is gentle and has a sort of healing affect, even the first time you listen to it. I have found these songs to be useful for inducing an altered state of consciousness, which is essential for meditation. Highly recommended indeed.
