This is a Reiki book that is about the spiritual and meditative aspects of Reiki rather than the laying on of hands healing aspect. It examines the history of how these principles have been applied in personal spiritual practices and gives the reader some excellent ideas on how to integrate the reiki principles into one's life. This book is more about your own personal growth and spiritual development than about the healing art of Reiki. If you are interested in going deeply into the Reiki principles and aligning with them in your daily life this book is a valuable resource. I haven't seen any other Reiki book that devotes such care and commitment to illuminating these principles and helping us all appreciate their power. Anyone who has made Reiki a major part of their life is likely to find a lot to appreciate in Amy's ode to the Reiki Precepts.

Amy Rowland's book Reiki for the Heart and Soul brings the beauty and poetry that is Reiki to the reader in an approachable, easy to understand language. Each chapter takes one a little farther down the Reiki pathway and into the spiritual core that the practitioner will find themselves traveling as they open themselves up to not only the Reiki energy but the principles that are part of this healing highway! This is a book that can be read by anyone who is interested in living a peaceful, gentle, kind, thankful life!

The author's writing style is clear and one can feel her love for Reiki. I appreciated her comments on how to further use the symbols.

As a Master/Teacher in the Usui tradition, I recommend this book for those who want to take their practice a step further.

I have become a fan of Amy Z Rowland. Her books are both practical and spiritual. Her writing blends experience with information. Each new title is a welcome addition to my library.

I'm a new Reiki practitioner and was very blessed to find this book. Amy Z. Rowland not only is a very good writer, she also gives great information about each of the Reiki principles that will help you meditate on them daily. Very rich and rewarding reading. Would highly recommend it. I would also check out her other books. I've read them and really enjoyed them, especially "Intuitive Reiki for Our Times."

Amt Rowland is both a superb writer and a superb Reiki teacher. And the combination makes for a read that is both wonderful, and also informative. Reiki doesn't "boil down" to nothing more than technique and hand positions - yes - the method and the practice of the method are important - but the intention and the connection are important. Amy pulls it all together - the history, the practice and the heart and soul.
