Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve health and enhance the quality of life. I've had a couple of treatments and found them beneficial.

This music was developed for this purpose, as were other CD's by this group. However, this music stands on it's own as peaceful and serene. The melodies are subtle and thematic, with occasional repetition. Much of this is in major keys and resolves wonderfully to major chords throughout. The tempo is usually in place and can be described as deliberate. The primary instrumentation: piano, acoustic guitar, violin, flutes and saxophones gives this a neo-classical flavor. Additional instrumentation includes "singing bowls" and what sounds like bells. While there are different movements, this CD is configured as one 62 minute piece.

I feel peaceful every time I listen to this. I have found it useful as a background for meditation and prayer as well as enhancement for relaxation. It's also great music for the office, since it is very calming and subtle. I work in an open cubicle, so usually I have to keep the music low. This is ideal for soft background music. My son uses it occasionally as music for helping induce sleep, all the more remarkable, since his tastes in music hardly ever overlap.

The New Age music category is home for some very bad music. On the other had, there is extremely good music in this category for the seeker - one, like me, who looks for music to enhance meditation and prayer. There is also music with properties for calming and relaxation. This CD does each very well, and is an example of the best of this category.

Most new age music is so unbearably cheesy that it makes me cringe out of embarrassment, while the non-cheesy remainder often feels fluffy and insubstantial. Sometimes a new age song will be so beautiful, and then it will change key for no reason, destroying the composition. It has been very difficult for me to find new age music suitable for meditational/spiritual practices. Fortunately, a local new age book store had a section set up where I was able to listen to dozens of the most popular new age CDs. One album, "Reiki - The Light Touch", instantly captured my heart with its soft and beautiful composition. It is essentially one song with a ten or fifteen minute cycle. This song repeats itself, with the occasional minor variation, for about an hour. It is far better than anything else from Merlin's Magic (Andreas Mock) with the exception of "The Heart of Reiki", and perhaps "Elements of Rejuvenation".

"Reiki - The Light Touch" is especially suitable for enhancing practices such as Qi Gong, which become boring as soon as the novelty of doing something new has worn off. The music easily blends into the background, subtly modifying the atmosphere, while not demanding too much attention from the listener. The song itself feels very deep and mystical, almost crystalline in its perfection. I often feel sanctified by simply listening to it. It's that beautiful! I would also recommend "The Heart of Reiki", which follows a similar song structure.

I have used this frequently in Reiki sessions and have gotten nothing but positive feedback about this music. Merlin's Magic has produced a terrific musical selection that is ideal for bringing a person into a relaxed state for healing. This is a truly soulful recording, one that captivates and soothes the listener, unlike many "new age" music recordings that may be relaxing but have no memorable musical content. This CD is destined to be a real classic of its genre.

I've been doing Reiki for roughly seven years and this was my first music purchase to accompany me on healing sessions and nothing comes close. I have to say that this is the best disc I've ever used for Reiki. It is extremely soft, lots of strings and light synthesizer music as well as these lovely flutes.

It is extremely useful for relaxing which is essential to preparing a client for Reiki. I find that I am very much able to start the flow of Reiki faster with this disc because of it's constant soft tone. In other words, there is no volume increase at the wrong times, it keeps the same tune throughout the hour. It is one single track, no interruptions and when hitting repeat it almost seems as if it never stopped. I highly recommend this disc to anyone who is seeking out "perfect" Reiki music as well as a delightful disc to play with company on soft candle-lit night conversations. A must-have for any Reiki practitioner.

I just got this cd along with another Merlin cd and have been playing them non-stop - at work, at home, at friends. It is beyond being a cd for Reiki. I feel beautiful and empowered when I listen to the simply haunting melodies.

I have shared this album with friends. My neighbor has heard it playing from my window and has asked specifically what it is. In some way, it touches everyone who listens to it and words can not describe how wonderful it is.

As a Reiki Practitioner, I use the Light Reiki Touch music of Merlin's Magic often. My clients find the music very relaxing during their treatments while at the same time quite rejuvenating. It is also great for gentle body massage. But wait, you don't need to practice Reiki to enjoy this cd. It's great for relaxation and meditation. I enjoy hearing the lovely sounds of the acustic guitar, keyboards, and Tibetan bells. I give this cd a 5 star rating!!

As a Reiki practitioner I am always on the look out for appropriate music to use. I heard this music being used by a colleague and wanted a copy of my own. I have used it as background music in my practice with complete satisfaction, but I also use it for myself, to drift off to sleep by at night. It is very soothing and quiet, and my clients comment on how pleasing it is for them. I have about 25 CD's that I use for Reiki, but this is the one I use the most frequently. It consistently enhances the relaxation response.

Being new at reiki, this was the first CD I purchased to help reach the alpha state. The calm, soothing, soulful sounds are some of the most relaxing I have ever experienced. My children like it so much they listen to it at night to help them sleep. The soulful cello melodies of "Earth Songs" blend with the sounds of the Brazilian rainforest. The romantic "Desire For Love" combines strings, piano and other acoustics along with the sounds of nature. The "Dance Of Dreams" uses flutes, singing bowls and chimes for a positive meditation experience. This CD will give you an energy tune-up at the end of a long day.

I could listen to this CD all day long. In times of intense grief, it carried me, transported me. On an average day, it loosens my mind, my muscles and my senses within the first few minutes of play-time. I cannot recommend it enough.
