Excellent Book for healing,
By "leoniea1" (Sydney Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reiki & Other: Rays of Touch Healing (Paperback)
Reiki & Other Rays of Touch Healing by Kathleen Milner. A comprehensive manual on healing. The author gives concrete examples in both the use of symbols and a variety of healing techniques interwoven into her own healing processes (following two automobile accidents) and her subsequent work on the inner planes with higher beings. The book explains techniques that can be utilized to develop psychic abilities and how to achieve deeper levels of meditation, and then ties this in with the healing process and different mysticisms. Kathleen offers her readers a fresh, meaningful understanding of the history of Reiki combined with Jesus' teachings and related aspects of other spiritualisms. There are chapters dealing with the use of healing energy in ceremonial work and Feng Shui. There's also a chapter devoted to healing animals, including a story of how a horse was healed of blindness in two weeks.Kathleen believes that all healing energy comes from the Creative, Loving Force behind this Universe, and the final chapter explains the dynamics of initiation into reiki and the other rays of touch healing. If you are a healer, or you're involved in the healing process, it is a source you may find yourself often referring to.

Very well written with very useful healing methods,
By
This review is from: Reiki & Other: Rays of Touch Healing (Paperback)
This book explains very clear the history and evolution of the healing system Reiki since the introduction of this wonderful gift by Mikao Usui. A lot has been said about all the different Reiki systems...the only way to know for yourself what is best for you is to look at what the Reiki Masters and their students can do. Can they perform healings as they were done by Mikao Usui, or not? Kathleen gives very useful examples of how she performs Reiki healing sessions with ready to use hand positions, meditation techniques and healing techniques. The different trigger points on the body are described and their use in Reiki healing sessions. Very often I find myself looking up information about healing techniques when I do Reiki sessions myself. A wonderful book about Reiki and healing.

In response to comments,
By Kathleen Milner (Arizona) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reiki & Other: Rays of Touch Healing (Paperback)
I can appreciate that you encourage reader comments. I can also appreciate that readers may not agree with everything that I have to say. In the "Introduction" to both of my books I encourage people to consider the possibilities, see what works and form their own opinions. Within the content of my books I also give some ways of ascertaining the Truth. However, one of the most consistent comments that I receive is that my books are very readable. Rather than being 12-point type (which is actually larger than most books) and single-spaced, my books are 10-point type and double spaced. This allows readers to take notes or as others have pointed out, people can read between the lines. I do often digress to make a point, but I always come back to the original thought and then tie thoughts together. It is like weaving a tapestry but my colors are words, my yarn is ideas and together they create patterns of thought. Most readers feel that this gives my work substance; that is, ideas are based in reality so that they can grab a hold with their minds. In addition, for those who learn visually there are companion videos listed in the back of both "Reiki & Other Rays of Touch Healing" and "Tera, My Journey Home". Thank you, Kathleen Milner

For the Tera Mai Student,
By Cassaundra (SW Arkansas) - See all my reviews

I am a Tera Mai master. This book shows a great deal that the Tera Mai student very much needs. The symbols are drawn out with direction and a detailed explanation is given. For some it can be a bit difficult to follow in places, but works out in the end. I require it for anyone that I teach.

An Interesting Journey!,
By Susanne (amorica.1@mbox301.swipnet.se) (Linkoping, Sweden) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reiki & Other: Rays of Touch Healing (Paperback)
An interesting and fascinating book about a newer form of Reiki, developed by Kathleen Milner through meetings, visions and channelings according to instructions by the teacher Sathya Sai Baba in India. The book barely contains any pictures, only a few not so go(o)d ones of the newer symbols that Kathleen, her students and other Reiki-practitioners were given in different ways. This, and the fact that the book is also a little hard to read on account of the doublespacing, lowers the rate as a whole.

Some is good ... some isn't.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Reiki & Other: Rays of Touch Healing (Paperback)
For those who are looking for "new" information on Reiki, particularly about Tera Mai, this is a really good book. However, I found that Kathleen digressed in places (like, up to half the book) and started writing about much that seemed out of context and odd. I would have preferred to have those bits left out (you'll know them when you see them) and more on Reiki included instead.

Poor attempt at writing,
By FuzzySlippers "Fuzz" (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reiki & Other: Rays of Touch Healing (Paperback)
Milner may be a gifted healer and channeler of healing energy, but she is not a gifted writer. Her personal story changes from edition to edition which leads me to believe that when she is challenged, she simply chooses a new path to follow.
The book contains SOME useful information and the symbols are a plus, but the format and overall layout make it difficult to read. She insists on using hard to read fonts and odd spacing in all of her books. This book is perhaps her best, and that isn't saying much. It's hard for her to stay on track with ideas which leads to rambling. I returned her latest book, "Becoming a Shaman" because it was so poorly written. I will no longer buy or recommend her books to anyone. If you want information about Reiki and energy healing, you would be better off choosing books written by Barbara Brennan or Diane Stein - both are very gifted writers and healers.

If I could give zero stars, I would,
By Barb "Barbara" (Phoenix, AZ United States) - See all my reviews

I read many, many books per year and, although I've read at least a dozen books on Reiki and even more on healing and energy work in general, this is by far the least helpful, most chaotically organized book I've ever read. I agree with another reviewer in saying Ms. Milner must have convince family and friends to review the book at 5 stars. It's a very difficult read. I do, however, sense that she is genuinely caring... just not a writer or teacher, as far as the book goes.

Aweful, Just Aweful!,
By Lester (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reiki & Other: Rays of Touch Healing (Paperback)
The reviews on this book had to come from the author herself or her friends and family. There is no other explanation why anyone who actually read (or tried to read) this book would recommend it to others. I only wish Amazon's rating system permitted negative stars. Not only are the illustrations amateuristic and embarrassing and the double-spaced typface irritating, the content is a joke. This Vanity Press booklet is Kathleen Miner's first attempt at being an author and it should have been her last. She has absolutely nothing to say, yet that does not stop her from rambling on interminably. Aweful, just aweful!!
