When I read the very first paragraph of Chapter Two, I all but broke down and cried - giving thanks for these long awaited words from Jim Pathfinder Ewing. Even though I had been practicing and teaching in the Traditional Usui Method of Reiki Energy Healing for the past 6 years, something always seemed to be 'missing' from my practice. Jim's words resonated so deep within my heart and soul that I knew beyond a doubt he was speaking age olde truth - just as New Age is not new at all, neither is Reiki just a 100 yr old Japanese form of energy healing. Jim shares this truth, knowledge and his own experiences in a simple,honest language that brilliantly illustrates how both modalities of reiki and shamanism can come full circle in a such a natural, complimentary way. With more than 25 pages of notes and bibliographies at the end, "Reiki Shamanism" is a road map unto itself and will surely open an evolutionary door to the entire Reiki healing community.

We are living in profound and prophetic times when more and more folks are desperately searching for lifelines. It is no secret that the time has come for great healing and awakening on our planet and I believe, now more than ever, we as a planetary society need to tune back into the heartbeat of our Earth Mother.

This book was pure energy healing for my soul and I highly recommend it as well as any of Jim's other books, classes or workshops. He shows us how easy it really is to become the necessary caregivers, not only to heal ourselves, but all our relations and ultimately, our Mother Earth. All we need to do is take that first step...

The author did a nice job with this book. It is just the right length to keep your interest. But, to get all the details, he refers you to his other books! So, I got his other books to get the FULL picture. So, it is up to you. He give you enough info in this book, but, according to your interest, you may need to get the other books as well. He is a good author and easy to read. [...]

Compelling and informative, this book was one of my favorites by author Jim Pathfinder Ewing. I really like the way that questions about Reiki and the Shamanic way are dealt with in such an easy to understand manner: lots of plain talk and examples, no-nonsense descriptions and simple but effective strategies toward understanding and practicing these healing modalities. If you currently practice Reiki, you simply must add this to your library. If you're curious about healing in shamanic travels, this is your guidebook.

The author's decades of experience in Native ways, including shamanic travel and healing, are evident in every page. I found this particularly reassuring as I read some of the extraordinary firsthand experiences and descriptions of the shamanic dimensions. In addition, Jim give an unbelievable bibliography and glossary, both of which are worth the price of the book by themselves! I highly recommend it (can you tell?)

As a Level III Reiki Practicioner, I found Ewing's book a fascinating doorway to added information and skill practice. Following his leads, I have procured the drumming CD, begun short experiments in "journeying," and been in contact with the The Foundation of Shamanistic Practice to take their initial course.
Ewing is easy to read and has helped me develope right-brained perception. I have ordered, received, and plan to read three additional books by this author. He has opened a whole new slant on shamanistic practice as a compliment to Western medicine. For me Ewing was the fulfillment of the adage that "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear."

All of Jim Ewings book have been very helpful to me. I refer to them
constantly. I just hope there is another book coming from Jim. His
Drumming CD is also at the quality level of his books......excellent.

This is a great, easy to read and understand book on the nature of healing and energy, some historyt and stories of Shamanism and Reiki, and other teachings and practice. It is a great book.

The author write of how he descover Reiki is part of Shamanism, and that he studied shamamism for many years before learning Reiki, which should been known is shaman studies? Another is about the charka beief, which needs more meditate on. Other then that, the book is very informitive, and not boring.

Great reading. Just what I was looking for. He has great insight and writes very well. This is a book you can read over and over and get new things every time.

An excellent introduction to Reiki Shamanism. This book gives a clear explanation of both modalities as individual healing practices and a concise description of how to put the two practices together. Included are several hands-on exercises. It's a good read and one to hang on to for reference.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a little bit Reiki and a little Shaman and the two are delightful together.
