The Reiki Touch: Complete Home Learning System by William Lee Rand is a remarkable collection of all the tools necessary to learn the art of Reiki. Inclusive of a DVD video, thirty cards, two CDs and a one-hundred page workbook, The Reiki Touch expertly features complete instructions for hand positions, scanning techniques, and other advanced uses of Reiki to detect auras and perceive past lives. A "user friendly" and easy-to-follow instructional resource, The Reiki Touch is a very highly recommended kit for anyone who would like to become more active and proficient in Reiki.

I have used William Rand's book as a text in my classes for over 11 years so I am familiar with his work. It is all good. This package is the best of the best.
The DVD and accompanying book are a wonderful supplement to Reiki training. I've been a Reiki Practitioner for almost 20 years and a Reiki Master Teacher for over 10, and I learned a lot. His explanations are clear and interesting. The last chapter of the DVD is a distant healing from William, and it is one of if not the most powerful Reiki healing I have ever experienced. This healing alone is worth the price of the package. I recommend it to everyone who wants to receive distant Reiki healing. The three meditations on one of the DCs are also excellent. I am finding them helpful to me in healing from a health challenge. This product is a must have for anyone serious about Reiki.

Have you ever wonder what reiki is or how to use it in your own life. This book (package) will explain it all. Just a few months ago I had my first Reiki balancing from two Reiki Masters I know. The experience was so spiritual and healing, I had to learn more about the subject. This book did just that. It teaches you about the history and orgins of Reiki and shows you how to use Reiki on yourself and to others. The set provides you with a book, cards, DVD, and CD's. I have found no other package as set up and as nice as this one. I did a healing on myself and instantly felt the power and energy of Reiki around me. If you are looking for your first Reiki book, this is one to buy.

Excellent and so needed,
This review is from: The Reiki Touch: Complete Home Learning System (Cards)
Healing systems which are accessible are so very needed in these troubled times. As an experienced practitioner myself, I offer high praise for the material here which has been put together to help others. If you have considered exploring your own connection to offering healing , I encourage you , and also encourage you to use this book, as well as others you may find along the way. I support the brave and high integrity efforts of this and so many other healers who bring this and other natural healing methods out into the open for all to participate in.
I must comment that it is sad that somebody ("Dr." somebody) felt it was ok to use a book review format to slander this material/author, and without offering reasons behind the slander. I think we can all see that that in of itself is "bad energy," which the light of all the other excellent reviews will shine over. Namaste.

A mis-named book - there are far better sources for self-healing,

Rand's voice is the spoken equivalent of "elevator music" and his choice of background music for healing is even worse. (At least he can put you to sleep easily.) He presumes throughout that you already have Reiki training and barely mentions Reiki except to mutter about "putting the symbols in your hand". Give it a pass and keep looking - it should NOT be considered a Reiki learning text.
Diane Stein's Reiki Handbook is far more accurate but did not come with an audio when I bought it. It contains some misinformation but does include the symbols - a radical break with other books, Rand's included. Essential Reiki: A Complete Guide to an Ancient Healing Art Hopefully the International House of Reiki will come up with an audio. Their podcasts are interesting and their e-newsletters informative. Their books contain the most current Reiki information from Japanese sources. Usui Sensei left a few students around when he died and someone finally bothered to locate them and discover what was actually taught. The Japanese Art of Reiki: A Practical Guide to Self-Healing

Best for Beginners Level 1,
This review is from: The Reiki Touch: Complete Home Learning System (Cards)
Great beginners kit. I took a Reiki Level 1 class a month ago and this has been the perfect tool for me so far. My teacher's lineage stems from William Lee Rand so i was excited to have purchased this kit. It comes with a 100 page Workbook, 30 Instructional Cards, Audio CDs, and DVD video. I just love the audio CD, its so relaxing. For those who want to know the symbols, you won't find them here. He states in his book, "You may be wondering why the Reiki symbols have not been printed in this workbook. It is because Reiki symbols are not meant to be available to the general public, but only to those who have taken a Reiki class." He goes on to explain the many reasons why the symbols are kept private. He also mentions you don't need the symbols to self treat or treat others. I know this because i don't use the symbols but i can feel the energy when i self treat or treat my pets...my hands get really warm and start to tingle.

Outstanding resource!,

All of the information on Reiki in the book and DVD is very simple and easy to understand. Mr Rand does an excellent job at communicating techniques and also how one would feel while practicing the techniques. This is kind of rare as books ususally do not go into how the practitioner would feel. I've tried the gyoshi ho technique with very good results on my first attempt! The meditations on the CD are excellent. I do one meditation each morning upon waking and I feel incredible! The book has lots of very usefull info with techiques on the use of the symbols and for healing different issues. One can really feel the passion and love from Master Rand and he has made a great impact on my Reiki practice and on my understanding of Reiki. I highly reccomend this kit to anyone no matter what your level is.

Worth the Money,
By
This review is from: The Reiki Touch: Complete Home Learning System (Cards)
The Reiki Touch by William Rand consists of an instructional workbook, a CD containing three guided meditations, a music CD, a DVD and 30 illustrated Reiki cards. It represents good value for money and is useful, if not always ideal, for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
The Reiki workbook is both original and conventional. It is conventional in that it includes the usual explanation of what Reiki is; a brief summary of its history; an explanation and illustration of the standard Reiki hand positions; and a brief section on how Reiki has been received and accepted by the broader (scientific and medical) community. This is all interesting, if not exceptional. The material covered is a useful summary; but lacks the detail to be much more. It is therefore better suited to a Reiki beginner who hasn't read much on the subject before. Things are more interesting when Rand deviates from the norm and either discusses his own person experiences with Reiki or illustrates various meditation techniques (most involving visualization) that help deepen your Reiki practice. Due to their more original content, both beginner and experienced practitioner have something to learn. The 30 Reiki cards are original and useful, albeit more suited to the advanced practitioner - especially those that have practiced not traditional forms of Reiki (for instance, Rand's own Karuna reiki, Shamballa Reiki or the like). The reason for this is that many cards discuss many Reiki symbols that will either be unknown to anyone who has not studied Reiki levels 2 and 3, or unknown to those who have simply studied traditional Usui Reiki (that only contains four symbols). The idea is for the cards to be used in a similar way to rune or tarot cards, with a practitioner using his or her intuition to choose a card that is meaningful to him or her at that present moment in time. The cards would be slightly more useful if they were presented in a box of their own. That way they could be more easily carried around in your pocket. As it is, you need to keep them in the Reiki Touch (kit) box which is a good deal bigger than even a large book. The DVD is more useful to beginners than advanced practitioners as, for the most part, it illustrates the basic hand positions to be used both on yourself and others. That said, most people will find at least one or two new positions that could prove useful. Also, it is interesting to see how an experienced practitioner like Rand works. That should prove useful even to some Reiki Masters. The music CD is solid, if not exceptional. I wouldn't use it for a Reiki session since the music is a touch (but only a touch) too quick paced and not quite soothing enough; but it would be suitable background music in either a bookstore or home. The meditation CD is probably the most interesting part of the collection. It contains three guided meditations involving visualization. These meditations involve meeting up with `enlightened beings', however, so if you don't like anything esoteric, then they may not be suitable for you. If you have an open mind, though, they should prove both interesting and useful.

Alternative healing,

As a beginner to Reiki, I find this product very informative and useful. It has a DVD to teach you different treatments and a CD for meditation and music. It also has cards for different hand positions and a book that is a must read for any Reiki student. The book alone is worth the cost of the kit. If you have heard about Reiki and want to heal yourself and feel less stressed, please give this system a try. William Lee Rand is wonderful!
