Product Description

It's the classic suburban conflict of unreturned tools, loud neighbors, and prize-winning garden gnomes from Reiner Knizia. This simple gateway card game has players starting with low-value cards then escalating the values until someone goes too far and penalizes their neighbor with the stack of cards. When the deck runs out and a player's hand is empty, the player with the least cards in his stack wins. One player opens with a card or cards and calls out the value played. The next player must play cards to surpass that value, and so on, escalating the value until the point where a player does not wish to or cannot go above that value, thus taking the stack of cards and placing them in her penalty stack. A simple card game in the tradition of No Thanks! Contents: 55 cards, 1 rules card

A Kid's Review on December 28, 2008
I was hoping that this was a card game that included and built upon the concept of urban escalation. Instead this is a very very simple card game based on numbers.....simple numbers....and the cards have pictures on them of urban trouble makers. There are 13 different pictures...several of which are gun related, not that I am against that in a satirical perspective of urban angst .....just that...I guess the artist ran out of ideas.

I think that even a second grader wouldn't want to play this game more than twice.

This is a simple game. It is easy to explain and play. However, there is not much depth, so the game won't hold interest beyond a few hands. It is possible to invent your own house rules to increase interest. The theme "Suburban Wars" is reflected in the card artwork, but the theme does not really play out in the game at all. Bottom-line: a worthwhile simple game for people with little time or who are easily overwhelmed by rule-laden Eurogames.

Pretty easy card game to learn and it helps with math too! My nephew really loves this game when we play and he's 13. It's kind of like war, but the adding of cards provides a new dimension. It's also funner with more than 2 people.
