The Power Of The Message! November 30, 2004
Format:Paperback
David Johnston, IT Engineer, Silicon Valley - As an engineer from the Silicon Valley, who has been out of work for nearly nine months, and who is about to give up sending resumes and searching for jobs in this market, Reinvention came as a welcome relief. For the first time I discovered why I am not getting responses to my numerous custom resumes that I sent at the hint of a job opening. The author goes to great lengths to show you how difficult it is to really convey a message of power without realizing the messaging challenge. He also provides a tool to help you capture your genius and shows you how to present that as your unique value proposition in your resume. This alone eliminates all the custom resumes I kept making. After going through this exercise, this all makes perfect sense. I guess nine months is a long time to waste but now I have learned how to do this right. This book has energized me enough to get back on the horse again. This book definitely deserves 5 Stars!!!

Find your Genius! November 30, 2004
Format:Paperback
The author has done a good job of getting to the bottom of the problem most job seekers don't even know that they face. In my own case, as a marketing manager looking for a job I did not realize that my own message was getting in my way of going to the next level of my job search. I have been out of work for over a year now and hardly anyone is calling from the hundreds of resumes I have sent. Reinvention showed me how to discover my genius and create a message that differentiates. I have used this method using tools the book provides and feel re-energized to do my job search looking at how my resume now reads. As a professional marketer I missed this trick to market myself, although I have used it all my life marketing many high-tech products. Marketer or not, this book will guide you in discovering your genius and showing you how to present your message in a unique way. It's been three weeks now I have been sending my resumes selectively and I already got calls in response.
