I had a nasty cavity and used this stuff on a q-tip to clean all around a big cavity I had near the gumline, and it eliminated the pain and made it so much easier to wait for my dentist appointment. It's been useful for any little gum problem I've ever had, after just a couple of days. Highly recommended. Probably shouldn't use it if your teeth are very porous. I've had no problem with staining, myself.
