she's baaaaaaaaaack, and even more versatile than before...,
By Jennifer M. Griggs "dj.ste.mairet" (Saint Louis, Missouri, United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)

Detroit's Chiasm (aka Emileigh Rohn) follows up 2001's "Disorder" with a cavalcade of dark female electro fit for the dance floor, the lounge, the radio, and your car. "Relapse" incorporates the old and the new, updating older songs (such as "Embryonic", "Incision", and "Needle") and bringing them to mass release with several new tracks. "Surrender" is a blistering dance track, while "Rewind" (very popular in the clubs) has a more subtle approach to getting you moving. In the vein of one of my favorite "Disorder" tracks ("Someone"), "Still" is absolutely gorgeous, with a beautiful melody and haunting vocals. "Chosen Fate" and "Phobic"- two tracks previously released and updated- are two of my favorite dance tracks. And, since there's something for everyone, "X-Ray" brings forth a little bit of Emileigh's experimental side. Two remixes round out the album, with the remix of "Surrender" being a climactic (albeit long) finisher.
Do not hesitate. Buy this album. Get ahead of the scene with an artist who continually proves to be relevant and worthwhile.

THE CHILD DEVIANT!,
By CRAZOTOLOGY (Joplin, MO. (USA)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Relapse (Audio CD)
I am a total electrohead, and I have written a kaziliion amazon reviews on industrial music. As a fan of EBM music I have gaven most of the bands a positive rating, but in truth, as good as many of those bands are...they often all sound the same. It is rare in the industrial genre when I find an artist who has fresh and new sound. I am pleased to recommend Chiasm to anybody who is looking for something different in regards to industrial music. Chiasm is Emileigh Rohn, a genuinely talented electronic muscician from Detroit. Some people are categorizing Chiasm as EBM, but IMO, Chiasm are more of sub-category...a whole different kind of style that Chiasm owns the stamp to. This is a verry impressive album. I love it!
