This first book from relationship expert Johnson, who hosts a radio talk show and appears frequently on such shows as Montel Williams and Jenny Jones, coaches readers on how to understand themselves in order to avoid repeating mistakes. Belying his sound-bite media persona, Johnson grounds his philosophy in reality, urging readers to dispel their self-delusions of injury, oppression, etc. and scrutinize the reasons they make harmful relationship choices. Johnson contends that readers must first ask themselves, "`Why?:... Why are you embarking on this path?'" Like most good therapists, he suggests focusing on oneself instead of constantly blaming others for difficulties.

About the Author

Dr Kelly E. Johnson, the author of A Relationship for a Lifetime and Relationship Problem Solver, is a nationally recognised psychiatrist and relationship therapist. He has extensive media experience, having appeared regularly on television shows such as The Jenny Jones Show and Montel as their 'relationship expert'. Kelly's radio show has been based in Chicago for the past decade and is geared toward helping people solve their most difficult relationship, health, and emotional problems. In addition to winning many broadcast awards, this show has consistently been rated the number-one radio talk show in the area. Since receiving his degree in psychiatry from Northwestern University, Dr Johnson has maintained a private consultation practice. He lives with his wife, Betsy, and their two dogs in Chicago. The best relationship self-help book that I have ever read!!!
The author gets to the root of relationship problems in a clear and concise way. Dr. Johnson offers solutions that took my relationship to the next level. Now, I can really understand my relationship choices (some good, some not so good). I love the way he offered commentary on other self-help books that I didn't think were helpful either. If you're less than thrilled with your current relationship, you gotta' get this book. Finally, an author that gets it!!!

Dr. Johnson guides you in your search for answers about relationships by making you look at yourself and the decisions you have made, and why it is you make those decisions. I found this book to be very helpful and professional. Unlike most relationship books, I feel as though you can truly apply what you take away from the book to your own life and relationship.
