Review

Edy Denkin is the mother we wish we had grown up with, the best friend we always need, and an understanding wife. Throw in a Ph.D., a common sense approach to problems, some humor, and her innate warmth, and you can see why, when Dr. Edy talks, people listen. --The Darien Times

About the Author

Edythe Denkin, Ph.D., a marriage and child specialist, teacher, coach, motivational speaker and a published author has 25 years experience in relationships. Her book, Why Can't You Catch Me Being Good? and upcoming novel on relationships are considered must reads. She also developed the "Kid Power Coins TM" child discipline system to help raise well-behaved, secure, confident children. In Dr. Denkin's soon to be published novel on relationships, readers will invariably ask themselves - "Why do I respond the way I do to my partner? Am I am the solution to my relationship problems, how can I be responsible for my life?" In 1997, Dr. Denkin hosted Catch Your Kids Doing Things Right, a four-part television series in which she taught many of her techniques to a wide audience. Dr. Denkin has been trained and certified as an Imago Relationship Therapist by Dr. Harville Hendrix, best selling author of Getting The Love You Want et al. She has been a workshop facilitator for best selling author, John Bradshaw. Dr. Denkin is an author with a spiritual quest and a personal calling. Her latest book is a conglomerate of the truth of many lives as well as her own personal growth and long-standing marriage.

Edythe Denkin has written an enchanting and moving tale of love and growth. We see relationships deepen as each gains a greater understanding of the wounds of those they love carry from childhood and how to give healing to those wounds. It's written in story form because we more readily absorb the messages from stories than from books of theory. It's the story of a prince and princess who become king and queen, and it is our story because we are all the prince/princess or king/queen of the homes we create. I enthusiastically recommend it for anyone who seeks to bring their relationships to the highest levels.

Format: Paperback
This book is written in fairy tale format, but its teachings and practical applications are more than relevant to real-life relationships.
Here's an enjoyable, easy-to-read story about how to learn and live the behaviors that help us relate positively to our significant others, in ways that build trust and strengthen our love. It's a great read with a valuable message.

When I was young, I used to watch these after school programs that turned fairy tales into real life, like the princess and the frog, etc. This is how I felt while reading this book and I enjoyed it as much as those shows I used to watch. Everyone who has ever been through a relationship that has had ups and downs, started with that typical honeymoon phase for so long and then felt the loss of love, respect, trust and happiness will understand the message behind this. I liked how the title gives the clue that it is a fairy tale. I loved the style in which this was written and would like to read more from her.
