The Relationship of Theory and Research,
By smartnurse123 (Slidell, LA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Relationship of Theory and Research (Hardcover)
A very informative and helpful book used as the main text in a nursing theory course that I took at the doctoral level. It is written simply and concisely and enables the reader to understand the relationship between conceptual-theoretical-empirical structures. It provides practical steps in analyzing and evaluating those structures and includes definitions. A great user-friendly text for a complicated subject!

This review is from: The Relationship of Theory and Research (Paperback)
Dr. Fawcett is a steady voice for scholarship and common sense in the pursuit of theory development in nursing. This book provides a much-needed guide for the analysis and evaluation of research documents with particular emphasis on the relationships between conceptual models, theories, and empirical research methods. This is a "must have" reference for potential nurse researchers. (Review by Dr. M. Messer, RN, DNP, CWS).
