5.0 out of 5 stars Relationships from Addiction to Authenticity
This book is going to help so many people out there that are in the painful bondage of co-sex addiction. It explains what it is and how to recover from this powerful addiction. These brave women talk about this no talk topic in our society and give hope and direction for all who are suffering. As a therapist I will refer this book to my clients. CR

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I was extremely disappointed with this book and would not recommend it. It is poorly edited, has inconsistent verbage, and references a non exist support program. It appears the readers that found this book helpful were likely friends of the authors as they are from the same city. I was extremely disappointed with this book and would not recommend it. It is poorly edited, has inconsistent verbage, and references a non exist support program. It appears the readers that found this book helpful were likely friends of the authors as they are from the same city. This is a painful enough topic to be personally acquainted with and following the advice in this poorly written book may make this difficult journey even harder to navigate should it be followed, in my opinion. I would recommend staying with the experts in this field and do highly recommend the Stefanie Carnes edited book "Mending A Shattered Heart".

This book is hard to follow with no practical advice. It talks about how spouses of sex addicts are "victims" and "little offenders" driven to abuse their families and children by the "big offenders," the sex addicts. I asked around about the "little offender" designation and it turns out this is the only place that term is used. Most of their examples of dysfunction are married people having sex to comfort each other in difficult situations - what's wrong with that? Unfortunately, co-dependents to real sex addiction, who are attempting to escape the viction role and get their lives back, will find nothing useful here. Instead, try books by Doug Weiss Partners Recovery Guide : 100 Empowering Exercizes or Melody Beattie Codependent No More: How to Stop Controlling Others and Start Caring for Yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Message of Hope for Those Still Suffering from Co-Sex Addiction, November 5, 2008

What an incredible book! It truly helps co-sex addicts see that they are not alone in dealing with this issue and that there is hope for recovery. These authors relate to their readers in a loving and non-shaming way while helping them to understand their disease and how it has contributed to the dysfunctional relationship with the addict.

Through a 12 Step Spiritual Journey, the authors of Relationships from Addiction to Authenticity, offer hope to people suffering from the disease of Co-Sex Addiction. The book was written with the hope to empower people to create authentic relationships in their lives. The authors explain that addiction and addictive behavior is driven by shame that we carry from those who have offended us and how carrying that shame plays out in our lives. This book is written with clarity and compassion. The authors explain the transition from shame to personal empowerment by looking at the pain underneath the shame. Relationships from Addiction to Authenticity succinctly describes Co-Sex Addiction and its effects on a relationship and offers a detailed and structured 12-step process toward recovering. This is a must read for anyone choosing to recover from Co-Sex Addiction who wants to live a more empowered authentic life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have!, November 5, 2008

This review is from: Relationships from Addiction to Authenticity: Understanding Co-Sex Addiction - A Spiritual Journey to Wholeness and Serenity (Paperback)
This book has changed my outlook on life. It helps anyone involved in an addictive relationship by helping them become empowered and authentic. It can help anyone understand what co-sex addiction is and how to live a healthy life. The main way it helps co-sex addicts is by tackling the core issue: shame.

Through all my years in recovery, I have read a lot of books and some were great, but none came close to "Relationships from Addiction to Authenticity." This book was the best written for anyone involved with a sex/love addict. A must have!
