Excellent Movie,

I took the opportunity to watch this movie and was very touched. I thought Eriq La Salle played his roll very well. From the beginning his character (Walter) was a very mild manner guy whom couldn't face the fact that he wouldn't be able to live up to his family's expectation after suffering the career ending knee surgery. To come back home and be face with the scrutiny from his family, finding his wife is now seeing, dating, and planning a future with his brother, Walter was very calm. I don't really know if he was understanding. On the other hand, his brother displays lots of anguish. This was a tear jerker. This story is not typical of an African American family in the mere fact that a brother marries the wife of his brother. None the less, I thought it was excellent.

I was quite impressed with this DVD. It carried with it a great plot. Each actor in it was awesome. This is definitely not a low budget movie--even though you may not have ever heard of it before. A man abandons his wife after suffering an injury in football and while he is away, his wife takes up a new relationship with her husbands brother. When he receives notification that his father has passed away, he returns back home to face not only the death, but his wife with his brother now, his mother who always has and continues to carry a soft place in her heart for a son regardless, and two very intelligent children who have truly missed their dad. The plot thickens in every scene which makes this a brilliant watch. I thououghly enjoyed so much that I watched it twice back to back just to make certain that I didn't miss anything. It will leave you with pretty powerful thoughts surrounding family values, morals, ethics, children, marriage, a mothers love, and feelings of loss when you feel like all hope is gone.
This movie is highly recommended for a family going through changes of separation, hope, and anything surrounding judging other family members.

The saying "You can never go home again" is the perfect subtitle for this movie. The movie is a excellent lesson of forgiveness. Oh, if you love all the black people from "ER" with the exception of Denzel, you will love it.

I understand how obviously things will be different when you come home to a family you had skipped out on for years. But, to see your brother dating your ex wife? I think that is WRONG! Not to mention how messed up the kids will be. That's my stepdad/uncle. I could understand if Walter (Eric la Salle) had died, but he was alive. Aren't there rules about this? For example: You don't hit on or date your best friend's ex girlfriend. Were they already divorced? I don't quite remember if they were divorced before he came home. Anyway, it makes me wonder if the brother had a thing for the wife to begin with. I know things are changing but still...
