A pleasure to read ... Robert Kirk appears to surmount the difficulty of communicating difficult philosophical concepts to the average reader.

If you are looking for a connection to relativity in physics, you won't find it here. All change, especially movement, is objectively, measurably, relative to time and space. It is this form of objective relativism that underlies Galileo's and Einstein's relativity.

Unfortunately, not to fault the author, current philosophical understanding of relativism does not yet extend to either the 'Secret Doctrine' of Plato's Theaetetus (156ff) or Heraclitus's ideas of dynamic interaction in a world of constant change.
