I purchased this 2 disc set based solely on hearing one track on XM Chill that I liked. In that past, I have had mixed results doing that, but this 2 disc set has been a revelation in that I like almost every single track on both. Sometimes I get lucky, this one one of those. I won't elaborate much more than saying that it is diverse and very listenable, and I give it a BIG thumbs up.

Volume 4 knocks the socks off of the other Relax EPs. The first CD is downtempo pure chill, while the second is a more uptempo mix. My favorite tracks on this album are Keane's "Try Again" and the Vanessa Daou vocal tracks. But all of the tracks have their place in this compilation and are really wonderful. I am thoroughly enjoying this purchase! Great for late nights with the significant other (if you know what I mean [wink]). This compilation is right up there with Cafe Del Mar albums of yesteryear.

Wow! I just kind of stumbled on this album the other day, and have been in a blissful state of disbelief ever since. I quickly had to forget everything I thought I knew about Blank & Jones (having heard only a few tracks from Logic of Pleasure) and just accept the awesomeness that is "Relax: Edition Four". Apparently, when these guys aren't making great trance music, they're busy revolutionizing everything: creating new sounds, styles, and stages, breaking rules, building bridges, and in this case, redefining what it means to "relax".

It is difficult to classify the overall sound, because in keeping with its cosmic theme, discs 1 (Sun) & 2 (Moon) are indeed about as different as night and day. And like their celestial counterparts, both stand alone as miracles of form & function, but each has its time to shine.

Disc 1 is definitely "chill"; pure, simple, satisfying lo-fi lounge grooves with a global/beachy feel; solid stuff, not one bad track, but nothing revolutionary...

Disc 2 is the true masterpiece here with its unique, refreshing, and very successful combinations of catchy, progressive, electro, acoustic, deep, funky, **UPBEAT & CHILL**. Some songs have a sound that is totally new to me, and I love it. Many defy categorization and demand to be played over and over again, but somehow remain new, novel, and different. -Not one bad track, and totally revolutionary...

And so with Disc 2, Blank & Jones have proven that it is possible to simultaneously RELAX and get a serious GROOVE on, while the series itself is proof that a couple of trance DJs from Germany can step outside themselves and produce something entirely different and exceptionally enjoyable.

An amazing gift, "Edition Four" offers a wonderful new way to CHILL and a real reason to RELAX.

I originally bought the relax edition 2 and loved it. I then got it for my father who could not stop playing it years after he received it. He was thrilled to see that I got him this one as well for Christmas! Great job with this compilation.

Blank and Jones have a long history, and sadly, I don't know it. I am familiar with them for their work in Trance. A remix of "California Sunset" is one of my go-to tracks. So I figured I would try the chillout stuff.

It's okay. What can I say? It didn't speak to me. As far as chillout compilations go, I like the centerfield Cafe Del Mar series (volumes 6-8) the best, followed by the Hed Kandi compliations. This, to me, all sounds a bit overdone.

Good for a lazy Sunday afternoon, but I can't take much more than about a half hour of it.

I just was listening to the mp3 samples and its great work, only problem is why doesn't amazon have the cd album available for sale!!? It came out a couple of weeks ago, and is only available as an mp3 download, why I ask?
