I often find myself saying, "I need Rod." When I'm feeling wound up and overloaded, and I hear, "Hi, I'm Rod Styker. Welcome to Relax into Greatness," I know that in 25 minutes, I will rise refreshed, able to handle whatever is on my plate. If I'm feeling indulgent, or if my life is tumultuous and I need more focus, I play the 45 minute track.
My children (since they were five) ask for it at bedtime. Calming the mind is a skill and having a good teacher is imperative. I have to believe that they are also subconsiously absorbing the importance of gratitude and how to access their inner Universal being.
Rod Styker's voice is also very easy on the ears, a soothing baratone that guides you through Yoga Nidra. I also like that there is no new agey music to distract from the journey.
Relax into greatness indeed!
Namaste.

This is as good as it gets., April 23, 2010
This review is from: Relax Into Greatness (Audio CD)
I put the tracks from the Relax into Greatness CD into my MP3 player and listen to it most nights.
Relax into Greatness contains two sessions of Yoga Nidra: you lie on your back, relax and listen. Stryker has a very pleasant, easy-to-listen-to voice. I find it to be the best way to relax my body and mind. The more I practice the better it gets.
I listen to Track #1 every time I practice Yoga Nidra. In Track #1, Stryker tells you what to expect, what to do, and what not to do. I find it useful to be reminded of his instructions before each practice. I attain a better understanding of his instructions the more I listen and practice Yoga Nidra.
When I started using Relax into Greatness I found that, after Track #1, it was best to listen to the introduction in Track #2 then skip to Track #3 and do the Short Practice.
After a few Track #3 Short Practices I then did the Track #2 Long Practice. Now I do either Track #2 or Track #3 (always starting with Track #1).
Yoga Nidra also includes Sankalpa. I never heard of Sankalpa before, but it is a way of helping one attain what one wants to achieve. Sort of like a New Year resolution but better. The resolution gets into your subconscious mind and, and ... listen to Stryker, he explains it very well. Sankalpa works for me.
I am a 69 year old male. Over the years I have tried various meditation techniques, relaxation response, positive thinking, beer, wine and what not. None compare with Yoga Nidra by Rod Stryker.
I have recommended it to family and friends. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone.
