5.0 out of 5 stars Relax! is the Ultimate 80's Mix, April 12, 2002

Are you tired of purchasing compilation CD's just to get a few tracks you like and a lot of stuff you don't? You won't have that problem here. This set has 36 tracks on two CDs and there are very few things you won't like. It is an English Import, so there will probably be a few tracks you are not familiar with, but there is plenty to keep you happy. I first would like to clarify the title of this set, The Ultimate 80's Mix. I was wondering if all of the tracks were mixes. Well, only those in the track listing that say they are mixes are indeed that- such as Relax, Blue Monday, Suspicious Minds, and Talk Talk on Disc One. The entire collection is done in mix style- with one track overlapping the rest. I found a couple of weak tracks- The Associates doing Party Fears Two and The Teardrop Explodes doing Treason, but that is a small matter. The first disc in particular maitains its tempo and could make a good workout disc- asuming you can keep going for about 70 minutes - which is the average length of each disc. My minor complaint was that the time of the tracks isn't listed anywhere. All in all, if you like 80's, you will love Relax! The Ultimate 80's Mix. Plus you don't have to listen to a bunch of things you don't want to hear to get to the good stuff. Pretty amazing for 36 tracks! There were a couple of artists I would have preferred different songs from (Classix Nouveaux Guilty instead of Is it A Dream for one or Dancing with Tears in My Eyes by Ultravox instead of All Stood Still) But everyone has their own favorites. Most of them are here.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE, June 25, 2006

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This CD is perfect for lovers of alternative 80's music. I bought this 2-disc compilation over a year ago and it is still my "most listened to" CD. The songs lead into one another so that the music is continuous. I didn't like this idea at first, but it is actually very well done. The songs on this CD are great 80's songs, but not often found on the other numerous 80's compilations that seem to all have the same pop songs. Bottom line: If you are of true fan of eighties music, you must buy this CD!
