Product Description

Amazon.com

This sound therapy system plays relaxing sounds to fall asleep to, gently wake up to, or to block out harsh urban noises. Also equipped with an AM/FM stereo and digital alarm clock, this unit replaces your old clock radio and turns a regular bedroom into a peaceful oasis. The stereo plays 12 pleasant environmental sounds, from a chirping songbird to a trickling stream to rolling waves, and lets you combine any two sounds, giving you 144 different possibilities. You can set sounds to play continuously or set the snooze button to go off after 30, 60, or 90 minutes as you fall asleep to the sound of wind chimes. The digital alarm clock is easy to set and wakes you up gently to more soothing sounds or--if you require more of a jolt in the morning--can be set to the beeping alarm sound or the AM or FM radio station of your choice. Two hi-fi full-range stereo speakers provide more of a surround-sound feel than most clock radios. Separate volume controls for each speaker let you adjust the sound to the right balance. This sound therapy system even comes with a remote control so you never have to get up out of your seat to program any of its features. A secret storage compartment on the lower half of the unit ensures that the remote isn’t lost. The unit has an attractive design that blends in with any home décor and either mounts on a wall or rests on a table on its included stand. The clock is powered by one AAA battery (included), the remote requires two 613-A batteries (included), and the rest of the system runs via the included A/C adapter or four C cell batteries (not included). This stereo sound therapy system is covered by a limited one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

5.0 out of 5 stars One important feature found on no others ..., February 22, 2004

This review is from: Relaxor ST722RE AM/FM Stereo Alarm Clock with Remote Control (Health and Beauty)
I was having trouble staying asleep, and it was suggested that if I had white noise throughout the night I might not wake all the way up 3-5 times like I was. But all the nature sounds clocks I found had limited sleep timers then woke you to the same nature sounds that put you to sleep. What's wrong with this picture?

Enter this little number. Yes, it's a bit inconvenient to adjust the time and volume (but once you get it set it's fine.) Yes, some of the sounds are a bit artificial. (Although it has more to choose from than on others, so I bet you'll find one you like. The ocean is fabulous.) Yes, the sound is wonderful - beats the other inexpensive clock-radios I've had.

BUT the magic is you can set the sleep timer for 30, 60, or 90 minutes ... or to run continuously. Then you can set the alarm to be buzzer, nature sounds, or am/fm radio. Problem solved! Very nice white noise all night (beats the tv on low) and yet wake to a nice stereo station! (I never noticed a buzz before it goes on, either with the white noise on or not. Think that guy got a defective one.)

Told my therapist who said she had 5 other clients who needed the same thing. Amazon owes me a commission!

2.0 out of 5 stars The Relaxor has good sound but seems cheap, December 28, 2003

I got this for my sister as a Christmas gift, but was disappointed to find that it looks cheap and not well put together. The picture looks like a nice brushed metal finish, but it's very plastic looking. The unit has separate right and left volume controls which doesn't seem useful to me. I found that I'm constantly trying to balance the volumes. The clock radio is completely disconnected from the rest of the system. The display is only for the clock and the tuner is the old analog style rotating knob; no digital tuner. The sound is decent, but for the price of this product, I expected something a little nicer.

3.0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag of tricks, August 25, 2004
This review is from: Relaxor ST722RE AM/FM Stereo Alarm Clock with Remote Control (Health and Beauty)
This SHOULD have been a FABULOUS product. It has many realistic NATURE SOUNDS but the choice selection INDICATOR LIGHT shines BRIGHT GREEN into your eyes at night--no dimmer. The easy to read LARGE LCD CLOCK is also too bright at night--no dimmer. The VERY STRONG radio tuner has a minuscule dial that's hard to see, especially in low light. The SPEAKERS are very good--but have awkward dual volume controls. It has an EXCELLENT REMOTE and a distinctive overall design. With a little improvement this would have rated 5 Stars. Don't expect top-notch and you'll probably be pleased for the money.
