Bonecrusher simply put is wack. He was able to salvage his first album Attenchun with original production, nice rhymes and guest appearances and came out the gate swinging. This album however is terrible. His rapping skills have declined and he wasn't that good to begin with. The only thing that could save this album is the beats...while the production on most songs...

Bonecrusher simply put is wack. He was able to salvage his first album Attenchun with original production, nice rhymes and guest appearances and came out the gate swinging. This album however is terrible. His rapping skills have declined and he wasn't that good to begin with. The only thing that could save this album is the beats...while the production on most songs are good and bump in the whip...that's it. The choruses are corny (King Kong style...need to switch it up playa), the lyrics are bad...bad as in bad not bad as in good...overall just not a very good product. Not recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't He Make This Same Album 3 Years Ago? {1.5 Stars}, August 1, 2006
This review is from: Release the Beast (Audio CD)
Where do I begin? I was skeptical at first because, well, it's Bonecrusher. He's never been that good. Couple that with the fact that he's rollin' with Roy Jones Jr's Body Head Entertainment (Roy has yet to release an album on his label that wasn't 500% garbage) and you pretty much know what you're going to get. The word to describe this album is weak. The lyrics are weak. The beats are weak. The guest appearances are godawful. There's nothing about this album that will stand out. Every song is about the same stuff.....chrome, jewelry, haters, and "you don't want to see my crew" rhymes. Consider this the ATTENCHUN! Remix LP. These songs are a step backward though.

As far as positive aspects, I have to thank Bonecrusher for keeping this album short. He could've tortured me with over 70 minutes of this garbage like most of his wack counterparts, but he kept it to just under 49 minutes, and for that I am eternally grateful. Also, I enjoyed the beat to "Lights, Camera, Action."

Release The Beast is a drink coaster. On his first album there were at least two songs that I found tolerable (Hate Ourselves feat. Goodie Mob and Never Scared feat. T.I. & Killer Mike), but on this joint every track is garbage. The zombies and sheep will probably call me a hater. Oh well, someone's gotta say it. This joint is booty and won't appeal to anyone north of the mason dixon line. The thing about that though, is you've heard other southern artists do this 10 times better than Bonecrusher is doing it. I recommend skipping this one. Don't even download it. It's that bad.
