5.0 out of 5 stars One of the better GREEN LASERS for the Price
Most green lasers cost in excess of $150 - this one was $89 at the time of my purchase. I wanted a laser that fit under the rail and this one does it. I ended up buying 2 of them; one for myself and one for my friend. Like many buyers, I saw the price and thought it would be too good to be true, but its a good green laser. It may not be a name brand like Viridian and...

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the better GREEN LASERS for the Price, March 8, 2010

This review is from: Custom QD Quick Release Interchangeable Green Laser Flash Light Combo for all Glock, Sig Sauer, S&W, and Springfield Pistol with tactical picatinny weaver rail (Misc.)
It may not be a name brand like Viridian and it is "made in china," but it works very well and keeps some money in your pocket for something you may only use periodically.

Notice, my friend's fit perfectly on his FN FNP-45 and looks great. Mine will be going on a Taurus 24/7 Pro (will update whether or not it fits the Taurus - but I'm sure it will because its a standard picatinny rail).

This is not a "rinky-dink" laser. It is very bright - even in lit environments. I displayed it in my house during the day and could STILL see the beam trace in addition to a very bright dot.

The seller was very friendly and called me back within a few hours even though I didn't leave a voicemail. They were helpful and supportive and answered ALL my questions - BEFORE I even made my initial purchase. I didn't really need the flashlight, but I guess its a good one to have if its home defense.

Important Notes:
1) You must replace the heads of the device in order to switch between flash light and laser - there's no way to use them at the same time.
2) The laser requires the 1 lithium battery (CR123A), but comes with an initial one.
3) It seems to be made of metal and has a little weight without being too heavy. It's solid.
4) Unless your rail to your gun is long, it will likely extend beyond the barrel a bit the device is roughly 2.5 inches long.
5) It is not like SOME lasers where it is permantely on. There's a sliding switch. (Imagine if you were holding a gun right-handed, you'd use your right index finger to switch it on, and your left thumb or index finder to switch it off - not difficult to do at all)
6) The laser comes with small allen wrench in order to adjust the windage and elevation of the beam.
7) If your gun has lots of recoil, that may impair the quickness of the laser's ability to zero in after a shot is fired.

Please note that as of 3/8/10 I have NOT used it at the range, but I will update my review once I do to see how the laser works with a bit of firing.

***UPDATE****
3/17/2010
I used this laser at the range and my opinion of its functionality essentially depends on the gun. First, I really bought this for use with my Taurus 24/7 pro 9mm, but when we went to the range, I'd yet to buy it, so I used it on my Taurus PT 100 (A Beretta 92 clone - .40 S&W all steel). I found that after firing it with that gun, the laser took a little while to zero back in on the target (like 3-5 seconds). However, on my friend's FNP .45 (polymer w. steel slide), it was great and took NO time to zero in on the target. So, I would say that the laser may depend more on the gun than anything (the seller has confirmed this notion). This laser is still well worth the money!
Overall, I still love this laser as one of the most inexpensive ones out there.
(Note, I went to a gun show the same weekend and saw the same laser going for 150 - better deal on Amazon even with shipping)
