Sister Hazel is THE BEST!,

I was first exposed to Sister Hazel years ago at a beach bar in Clearwater where they were playing on the back porch with a Gulf Sunset behind them. Since then I have collected their CDs and list them as one of my favorites! This CD is no exception. If you are a Sister Hazel fan you will enjoy. If you are new to Sister Hazel, you might want to listen to Lift, or Fortress as well as Release.

Get Your Fix On Sister, Brother!,
This review is from: Release (Audio CD)
Well, I didn't even know this band was still around let alone releasing new music, but when I saw this in Target in the new releases and for only $5.99 I just couldn't let this slip through my grubby little hands! And I'm so glad I didn't, they are sounding just as good if not even better than before! The songs Release, Take A Bow and I Believe In You are standouts and ready for the top 100 if only they get the airplay they deserve! See what I mean and pick up your copy today! You won't be sorry!

Real Good,

This review is from: Release (Audio CD)
Sister Hazel has a huge cult following. That's no surprise considering they have been fairly consistent with everything they have done. They are sort of a cross between Rodney Crowell, meets Tom Petty, meets Radney Foster, meets Firefall, meets ARS. They have a lot of influences but manage to still have their own sound. Most of their work leans toward a country rock flavor. Release sort of puts a glossier shine on things. It's a little more radio friendly yet manages to have an identity that keeps things fresh. This is not great music but it is enjoyable and much better lyrically than most modern day music.
If you lean towards a country flavor with a little kick then Release will fit that bill. Check out some of their earlier releases as well. This is a band that, up to now, has stood the test of time.
