Release Your Brillance,
By
This review is from: Release Your Brilliance: The 4 Steps to Transforming Your Life and Revealing Your Genius to the World (Hardcover)
From the beginning of this book we are reminded that each of us is born brilliant. Not just OK, and not just special but brilliant like a polished gemstone.... a diamond. The problem with us lies not in the fact that we are born brilliant; the problem lies in the fact that we tend to let our brilliance die down and dim as the years go by.
Much causes our brilliance to lose it's glimmer, outside sources dim its beauty, others cause us to become less of an eye-catching jewel, but according to author Simon T. Bailey, that does not have to happen. That is not something that we have to put up with in our lives. Our brilliance can be as bright and free from imperfections as we grow older as it is when we are young. The author knows of what he speaks. He spent much of his life struggling to find the brilliance within and it was only with deep introspection and study that he came up with the concepts within this book, concepts that are easily added to ones life to rediscover and maintain that brilliance that lies within us.... some of us having it lying dormant for years. I would suggest this book for anyone who doubts his or her brilliance in life. For anyone who feels their brilliance dimming and who desires the help and guidance to find that brilliance once again and let it shine from deep within. It is a book well worth reading and one that will aid the reader in discovering that which I suspect has been buried for a long time. I know it did me. And lest one feel this review is but one woman's opinion, may I mention, I received not one but two of these books as Christmas gifts from well wishing friends and relatives. Obviously Mr Bailey is doing something right and is reaching far more readers than just myself.

Release Your Brilliance,
This review is from: Release Your Brilliance: The 4 Steps to Transforming Your Life and Revealing Your Genius to the World (Hardcover)
Eureka! I have discovered my brilliance. It was there all the time, but Simon's words in "Release Your Brilliance" gave it a voice. I find I am engrossed with his words of wisdom that were written just for me. I have discovered I have a talent for words, so I am completing a journal. It describes my current illness. In June 2007 my eyesight was failing in my left eye and I was diagnosed with a stroke. I am legally blind. That rocked my world. I am a registered nurse, the caregiver, and I am learning how to accept assistance. A MRI showed an aneurysm in my brain. WOW, too much information for me to handle. To make a long story short - I found a brilliant surgeon and have had two successful surgeries. My left eye continues to be a source of distress but I have come to this conclusion: Nothing, not even this set of difficulties, will determine my destiny! I now have the power to shine. I am active in church, I make jewelry (this is my passion) and I am healing physically and better still -- spiritually. There are not enough words to describe the effect your book has had on me. I am in awe of your brilliance, and your words. Thank you for allowing me to go on this journey, with your help and the tools to become the brilliant diamond God meant me to be.

We are all diamonds in the rough,

This review is from: Release Your Brilliance: The 4 Steps to Transforming Your Life and Revealing Your Genius to the World (Hardcover)
Using a diamond metaphor, the author describes our personalities and talents as a gem that can shine brilliantly, if properly cut and polished. Many people fail to see their full potential, because their innate gifts are hidden inside a rough stone that needs to be carefully prepared for it to achieve its full potential. This book describes the author's approach to unleashing the potential within each person.
While this book does provide some insights into what it takes to achieve success in our lives, much of the advice is terribly generic, lacking in the specifics that would make it truly useful. Perhaps understandably, the author leaves the discovery of the specifics up to the reader to discover, noting that there is no simple, magical cure-all that will release one's gifts. Instead, it requires a great deal of honest self-reflection and hard work to redirect our lives toward achieving our potential. How helpful this advice is probably depends a great deal on the reader and his or her circumstances. This book didn't speak to me personally, but might be just the answer to help others. Release Your Brilliance: The 4 Steps to Transforming Your Life And
Revealing Your Genius to the World By Simon T. Bailey A Book Review by Jan Coad: I have been fortunate enough to have attended and even been a facilitator in programs that help people realize their potential and live their dreams. I have been through both Pacific Institute and The Edge Learning Institute programs through my previous employers. Both were wonderful programs. When I was offered to review a book by Collins Publishers I selected Release Your Brilliance: The 4 Steps to Transforming Your Life and Revealing Your Genius to the World, by Simon T. Bailey. Through my experience with the previous programs, that have been given in many fortune 500 companies, I have a good understanding of the importance of positive affirmations and writing down appraisals of your life, etc. I was very pleased with Simon Bailey's book and it couldn't have come at a better time in my life. I recently ended one career in Higher Education Administration and am struggling to enter another - becoming a published author. The book was an easy read that engages the reader - you don't want to put it down. The "personal appraisal exercises" are well thought out and of great assistance to the reader. They make you think about yourself and your goals that 'motives you to get you on the right path toward releasing your genius'. At the end of each chapter there is a "Gem for You". It can be difficult to really examine your goals and motives and reading these was a nice reminder that you are worth the work that you are going through. My personal favorite was: "When your motives are authentic, you attract what's in your highest good." In reading his book, I can only imagine that Mr. Bailey is an amazing speaker and his lectures would be very powerful to attend. The inclusion of personal real-life stories through out the chapters was wonderful. I found this to be a great read for my Holiday Break. I think it would be a wonderful read for college students who are heading out into the world, for couples to go through together to appraise their relationship, or for anyone starting a business or beginning a new career like myself. I hope that you all will give it a read and enjoy it as much as I did.

This Book IS Brilliant!,

This review is from: Release Your Brilliance: The 4 Steps to Transforming Your Life and Revealing Your Genius to the World (Hardcover)
It is wonderful when an author/teacher can inspire one to recognize the greatness that they were born with.
It is extraordinary when an author/teacher can go beyond that - to provide application exercises and tools that are designed and proven (through years of work with corporate employees and executives) to actually draw that greatness out and let it shine. That is EXACTLY what "Release Your Brilliance" does ... in a sincere and authentic fashion - without all the hype and fluff that many motivational books contain. If you're ready to let go of the past and take a fresh look at yourself and do some real homework to get to the next level of success, you owe it to yourself to read this book and put its wisdom to work in your life!

Mr. Bailey spoke at my college graduation, and I purchased this book as soon as I left the event. He has been through the same types of hardships that I have experienced myself, and with a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard, he has overcome all obstacles against great odds. To me, it is encouraging to see that 'nice guys' don't always finish last. I admire Bailey not just for finding his own brilliance, but using it to help others find theirs. Mr. Bailey, you are brilliant!

Release Your Brilliance: The 4 Steps to Transforming Your Life and Revealing Your Genius to the World
I'm very hard on myself, not very good at giving myself praise, and my self worth is zilch. Sometimes I feel as if I am just going through the motions of life, not really living, but just living enough to survive. I often turn to self help books hoping to be uplifted and inspired. But I always seem to run into the same type of book. It's either very boring and dull, or it doesn't fit my persona, or it doesn't uplift or inspire, or the book makes me feel as if the author would rather be doing something else. So when I was chosen to receive a free copy of Simon T. Bailey's book, "Release Your Brilliance" in the mail, I have to admit, I didn't give it much hope. "Release Your Brilliance" by Simon T. Bailey, is not only uplifting, it's inspiring. I was really amazed at how much different this book was from other self-help books I have read in the past. I finally, found a book where someone was speaking to me, instead of at me. The author made me feel as though he were in the room speaking directly to me. When I read "Release Your Brilliance", I didn't feel alone, I felt that Mr. Bailey was at my side guiding me through the whole process and that he cares about me personally. Wow! That is a lot for one self help book, don't you think? Trust me when I tell you, he really is with you every step of the way. Through out the book, I had a lot of 'A-Ha!' moments, and some of it made me laugh out loud. Some of it made me groan inwardly and there were parts that brought tears to my eyes. I hadn't realized how much I was missing out on until I read "Release Your Brilliance". Simon T. Bailey states that "everything you need to be brilliant is already right inside of you." And he shows you how to find that light again. This book isn't just for those who need a change, it's for those who have changed and wish to continue to shine. Mr. Bailey also shares his own painful journey of finding his inner brilliance. It's motivating, heart wrenching and inspiring. Mr. Bailey doesn't demand anything from you that he hasn't already demanded of himself. He has gone through it, and wishes to share what he has learned with those who also want to be inspired and want to grow. Mr. Bailey gives real life stories of people who have struggled with their own inner angst to shine brightly. I especially love the brief little "Gems" at the end each chapter. It's like a getting a little pat on the back. After each gem I read, I close my eyes and repeat the words in my head. The gems at the end of each chapter are soothing, and a gentle way of pushing you to continue forward. Do you know the quote "Life is a Journey, not a destination" by Steven Tyler? I have loved that quote for many years. But it wasn't until I read "Release Your Brilliance" that I truly understood the depth of that particular quote. The exercises given in the book are amazing, insightful and very helpful. For those of you that don't have a partner to share in the exercises, you can do them alone. But it is really more fun with a partner. You learn so much more. When you read Release Your Brilliance by Simon T. Bailey; you don't just read about how to shine, or about how other's have found their shine, you feel it for yourself; and it is a warm, amazing, brilliant shine. Grab your shades; you're going to need them.

I found this book to be a great read. I really liked the diamond metaphor as it gave me something tangible to reflect on. There are a lot of books out there that offer a lot of ideas but very little actionable steps to put what the author is telling you into practice... Simon does a masterful job at giving great ideas but also the specifics to help you release your brilliance both personally and professionally. I recommend this book to anyone who is searching for more out of life... not just financially but more purpose and success.

"If you are reading this, you should scroll back up and click `add to cart'. This is by far the best book I have ever read about the power each of us has within ourselves to become all that we were meant to be. "
I was at an airport waiting for my connecting flight, too overwhelmed by life and the direction I was heading to think straight and too restless to sit still, so I began walking. I ventured into a bookstore and found Release Your Brilliance. I can still remember how I felt when I read the back cover. I wondered how Mr. Bailey could have possibly known that the exact things he offered in his book were the exact things I would be looking for that day. I had felt for years that there was more to my life than what I had settled for - I just didn't know what to do about it. Release Your Brilliance not only showed me what to do but how to do it. Today, I am closer than I have ever been to living the life I always dreamed about and Mr. Bailey and his fabulous book, Release Your Brilliance, had a lot to do with that. I highly recommend this book. I am living proof that what is offered within its pages can and will transform your life. You know you were created for more - you have felt it for years just like I had. You can live that life. Please add this book to your cart and get ready to Release Your Brilliance!

I bought this book a month ago at the airport for a quick read on the way to a business meeting. Being in sales, I am always looking for a quick pick-me-up to get me moving in the New Year. I was completely shocked to be moved to tears in the first chapter. The exercise of finding my "Universal Assignment" or true purpose in life caused me to dig deep and really think about what I am doing with my life. Subsequent chapters gave me a roadmap and hope that I will be able to achieve my ultimate goals for my family and career, while motivating me to leave a positive mark on the world as well.
I found this book incredibly inspirational and the exercises caused me to create an action plan and not just read it and think "What a great idea!" put it down and never think about it again. Bailey shows us how simple it can be to become the person you always wanted to be--before your life got in the way. I have been truly moved by this book and I have read hundreds. This is not just an interesting way to spin the same old thing, it is a new dimension in self discovery. So simple and yet so poignant, it will leave you with a real sense of who you are and where you are going. |
