Why are we not getting release day delivery on the collectors edition or black armor edition? This makes no sense. For Ps3, you cant even select the standard edition.

I don't think the release date has been updated. If you look at anticipated release, it's a full two weeks before the Dark Souls II regular edition hits. This is probably an error (or maybe it's a special bonus for collector's edition).

Either way, I assume if you choose two day shipping, as with typical release, you'll get it the day of release. Hope this helps!

Amazon implemented prime to drive you to pay for it to get it release day. No more 99 cent shipping for release date.

yeah. i feel like we should receive pre-order games the same day it is released. whats the point if we can get it the same day. not pre-order before we get it from a pre-order on amazon. thats really not pre-ordering!

Wait, what does this have anything to do with what i am talking about? I have prime. There is no release day delivery, PERIOD. Prime or not.

Unit543 says:
Prime has 2 day shipping , for release date it uses this option. So essentially 2 day is release day shipping.

Yes prime is 2 day shipping but unless the game HAS release day delivery, it doesnt matter if you have prime or pay for 2 day delivery. It would say it in the product description. Want to receive this on release day? It doesnt have that option, meaning that just because you have prime doesnt mean you will get release day. If its not available its not available. If you have prime or buy 2 day shipping you will get it 2 days after release. Prime has NOTHING to do with release day delivery UNLESS the game has release delivery as an option. Almost every game has release day delivery whether or not you have prime. Dark Souls 2 DOES NOT. Thats why i asked. Doesnt matter if you have prime, having prime only means that you will get it sooner after release. I was able to talk with support and they changed my Prime delivery to over night delivery, so i will get it next day at least. But if Amazon keeps this up i will go to Gamestop. I want the game on release, not 1 day or 2 days after. I dont know why they dont have that option.

How stupid are you? Honestly? You only get release day shipping if IF it has it available. ONLY. Other wise it ships and you get it 2 days after release. Man you stupid. Release day delivery is only available if it says so.

Ask ANYONE that uses 2 day here at Amazon and they will tell you, 2 day is release date shipping.

Do you feel it yet

I know this thread is old, but I recently contacted Amazon about release date delivery for Dark Souls 2. They said that...

"We only offer the Release-Date Delivery option when we know we can get the item from our suppliers in time to meet our delivery promise to you. It's possible that this item will become eligible as the release date gets closer and we've confirmed our inventory."

Basically they don't know if they'll get it early or not.

Well that's too bad, because I was going to buy it here but not if they can't guarantee release day shipping.

Same, I normally don't care if I get a game near release and haven't actually preordered since this one. But Dark Souls is a radically different game in the first month, when all the people you play with don't know every secret and every strat. for the bosses. When you can experience that together, it's just so damn awesome.

I'm picking it up at midnight at the nearest gamestop, would've preferred Amazon though. Oh well.

probably no release day delivery cause of what happened with DS1. Namco didn't supply enough so a ton of those who pre-ordered didn't get their copy till 3 or so days after release date. I was one of those unfortunate souls :/

Wclark22 says:
I hightly doubt that Namco will make the same mistake by not having enough copies. This series has a huge fanbase and Namco knows it and will have more than enough copies. How do i know? I dont...but i am using some common sense. Along with the whole release date delivery... if you have Prime and choose free 2 day shipping you will receive it on Release day. I have used this option many many times in the past and have always received my games on release day. As long as Amazon receives in their shipment from the distrubutor (usually about a week in advance of release day) then they will get everyones shipment out to you on release. If they truly thought they were going to run into a problem with stock, they would have stopped preorders by now.
just my 2 cents haha

I preordered the $120 special edition and my delivery date still has not been listed. If I don't get this game on the day it comes out I am going to flip!

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 3, 2014 8:32:40 PM PST
We'll I am warning you now, it won't. There is no release day shipping for the game, unless that changes In a week before the release you are not getting it on release. I suggest if you can pre order from GameStop. That's what I did. It's a shame I had to cancel my amazon pre order but if Amazon fails to have release day delivery, I will take my business elsewhere, that is if I want it on release day.

I changed shipping speed from 2-day to 1-day and then back to 2-day. My delivery date is now March 11th. I hope this helps people -- I wouldn't cancel your order.

Switching from 2-day to 1-day and back again didn't work for my CE. I plan to check Gamestop tonight since this is cutting it too close for me.

Also, my order page says "We thought you should know that we're experiencing a delay with your order. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please take note of the revised shipping and delivery estimates marked in red below," yet nothing below is in red and it just says the same thing others are reporting here.

The change in delivery date was not immediate for me, it took about 15 mins to update on my 'Orders' page. I also pre-ordered in September.

K. Jacobs says:
Ahh, I preordered in December so I could just be lower on the list. Although now Amazon is open for more preorders probably because they're cancelling orders. It bothers me that they will continue to accept preorders when they haven't even given any shipping date for current preorders.
