Product Description

THE NEW ALBUM RELENTLESS now brings more of the aggressive spirit that singled him out as one of the break out artists of the last year. The first single Johnny Cash is off to a tremendous start at radio. In the first 2 weeks following the ADD date over 70% of the Country radio monitored panel was already playing it. With 3 Top 10 singles and 3 #1 charted videos at CMT Jason has knocked down the walls of the gate keepers and we are confident that the growth that has already occurred will not just be maintained but will shift into an even higher gear as this song continues to climb the charts. The goals for this release are high but when you consider that you know you have a million fans out there that have already purchased an album of Jason's music it is not a huge leap to get to the next level given all the activity that Jason brings to the table. 2007 will be a significant year for Jason Aldean and his label, Broken Bow. Any past success that has been attained is not being taken for granted and all the assets of the company are being utilized to insure that every opportunity to promote Jason and this album are being explored and capitalized on. Now he's preparing to drop his second album, a collection of songs that sustain his emphasis on relatable, recognizable lyrics while pushing into new sonic territory. The standout tracks include Laughed Until We Cried, Do You Wish It Was Me, I Break Everything I Touch and Grown Woman featuring a special guest vocalist.

On his sophomore CD, Jason Aldean, the Academy of Country Music's Top New Male Vocalist for 2006, continues to rely on a proven formula--recording several John Rich co-writes, and reprising producer Michael Knox--while pushing harder on the rocking side of his Georgia roots. A platinum-seller his first time out, he stocks the new album with songs from reliable hitmakers (Brett James, Jim Collins, Tom Shapiro) to score at radio (watch for his duet with Miranda Lambert, "Grown Woman"), but also isn't afraid to get edgy ("Back in This Cigarette," about an anguished breakup). A serviceable baritone, a hat act with pierced ears, Aldean relies on attitude when all else fails, and it works. "Johnny Cash," his rocking ode to rebellion and rebirth, is the fastest-rising single of his career. --Alanna Nash

I'm not a big country fan music lover but I have bought Shania Twain's and Tim McGraw's cd's.I never listened to Jason Aldean or ever of him but his cd was on sale so I picked it up.All I can is "WOW...I love this guy's voice".

The way he lays it on you with "Johnny Cash" and "I Use What I Got",two of my favorites on the cd.

Nice listen if you are taking a nice long drive during these summer days!

very good disc... not quite as good as his first, but that would have been hard to top... this guy is a great talent, great voice, great guitar work ... my biggest dissappointment was the duet with Miranda Lambert, they could have used her amazing voice much more powerfully than they did ... but all said, this should get Jason another 2 or 3 huge hits, and a few awards ... if you liked his debut, you will like this disc.

Jason Aldean has great music and this CD has some really good songs on it. I do think the music in his first CD was much better. A lot of the songs on the new CD are slow to me.

Jason Aldean is definitely one of the best young artists in country music. His second album is solid, but not better than his first. Of course, it's difficult to top the last CD.

There are a lot of really good tracks on the CD including "I Use What I Got", "Cigarette", and "Laughed Until We Cried."

The first single, "Johnny Cash" is okay... it's just too manufactured for radio... it's just not a natural song, which seems to be a theme with these songs. A lot are a product of the Nashville songwriting formula.

At times, the songs sound dangerously close to Rascal Flatts, which is bad. That's not something anyone should aspire to be.

All and all, it's a solid album and I like it. He makes it work, and his voice is awesome. I just wish he wasn't touring with Rascal Flatts so I could actually see the man in concert. Good thing he'll be around for years to come.

This cd is one that you can put on and listen from beginning to end. There is not a bad song on it. I bought one copy for the car and one for my cd player inside. There is something for everyone on this cd. It has everything from the fast paced "Johnny Cash" and "I Use What I Got" to slower songs like "Grown Woman" and "Back in This Cigarette". I never get tired of hearing this cd.

This album sold something like 100,000 copies almost immediately on release. That's a demonstration of how good its predecessor was. For me, this album lives up to the expectations though. Aldean is a great talent and he's going to be around a long time. He's got a unique voice and he uses it well, and someone's doing a good job of matching him to the right songs. He's also a superb live performer and is backed up by what is essentially a tight rock band. Anyway, about this record. The first single, "Johnny Cash" is a fun rocker (although the purpose of 'Johnny Cash' in this song, about eloping to Las Vegas, makes no sense). Other favorites are "I Break Everything I Touch," "Laughed Until We Cried," and "Do You Wish It Was Me." Given the junk that we repeatedly hear on country radio, most will not ever hear "Grown Woman," which deserves to be a classic. This is a great album, and if you saw this guy or TV or somewhere and thought you liked him, you'll love this record. If you want to know why Jason was a CMA New Artist of the Year, get the first album - you'll wear it out (or, at least you would if it was vinyl).

Relentless, by Jason Aldean, is a CD that country music fans everywhere will love. I liked it because the songs had a purpose and aren't just pointless. I also liked it because it had songs for just picking up and listening to and some for sitting down and listening to the lyrics and thinking about them. The songwriting is really great.
The two hit songs off of the album are Johnny Cash and Laughed Until We Cried. Johnny Cash is about a guy who quits his job and drives to Las Vegas with his girlfriend, listening to songs by country music legend Johnny Cash. The song Laughed Until We Cried is about a man reminiscing about good times spent with friends and family. It is great for country fans any age. You might also enjoy Jason Aldean's debut album, titled Jason Aldean.

I didn't care for this album and I don't think I listened to it but once or twice before tossing it to the back of the pile of CDs in my truck. Then I put it on my Zune and figured it would get mixed in and maybe I would find some songs I like.

At this point I really enjoy this album it just took a little bit of an acquired taste. Overall, I don't think it is nearly as good as is first album but it still has some really great songs. Amusingly enough the song "Johnny Cash" is my least favorite song. The rest of the album is much stronger.
