Starts good then fails, October 9, 2011

I am so frustrated with this machine. It starts off well and solid but breaks down easily. The plastic parts are inferior. I have had at least three machines returned. The first one: the light bulb melted the plastic cover. Second one: the tension dial knob disconnected from its metal axle and I could not adjust the tension. Third one: the machine stopped turning, I could not turn it manually or operate the pedal. The machine is solid, at least the metal parts are. I like the fact that I can open both sides of the bottom to thread the loopers.
