Heavy,substantial,looks and feels sturdy.It is broader in width compared to that of regular ironing boards and so I'm not sure if I can find a padded cover that would cover it well and fit it snugly in case I have to replace the one that came with it. I have not checked any stores for this yet. The pad that came with it is not thick enough to my standards.The broader width, though, is a plus feature for me. It is quite heavy as I've said earlier and makes it hard to move it around, fold and put it right up, but it is sturdy. It was also shipped in a flimsy cardboard and not well protected that the iron holder got bent on one side, not so bad, though that that part could no longer be used. However, with the price tag, I was hoping to recieve it in top-notch shape.

Really heavy! Nice and solid. I'm pretty strong, and this takes some muscle to move around.I put it up after I use it. I weighed it in at 22 lbs.

Not sure why the iron holder on the end is so big, either, but it works--you have to stand it on the pointed end, which is no problem on the nice soft, rubber feet.

It could use a hook to hold the legs in the closed position, easy enough to make--I used a few small super magnets to hold it closed.

Overall, a very solid and well made board--none of the screeching of metal on metal that made my old board intolerable.

This board is extremely easy to open and shut. Like the previous reviewer said, one would like a hook to keep it closed. You must lean it when closed. I'll add a plastic twister thing from toy packaging to hold it if it bothers me. That's not enough for me to grade it down one bit, because the noiseless ease, size and sturdiness, along with the shelf features are great. The padding is good enough, much more than you get with the cheaper ones these days, but I may add another layer, later.

BTW, it says in the description that the iron shelf on the end "can hold either a traditional iron or an iron-steam generator". So if you look at some of those generators here at Amazon, you'll see that this board will accommodate them.

I bought a rowenta board that looked just like this one.. it was a great board.. I could not find one, so I purchased this one.. the biggest problem i have is that in the closed position, this board does not lock. SO, when you pick it up to move it, it springs apart and hit walls, your legs, other people.. You would think at this price point the board would lock closed..
LOOK FOR A ROWENTA it smuch better.

Love, love, love this ironing board!! I am a professional seamstress and this really fits the bill. It holds my gravity iron and I love the shelf underneath where I can keep pressing cloths and cleaning towels. It's heavy duty and doesn't tip like the light weight boards for occasional ironing. I've read some of the reviews that state that people are unhappy because it is so heavy to take up and down and doesn't have a latch to hold the legs. This is not meant to be taken up and down for occasional or casual ironing. It's meant to be left up and used all of the time. This is a very good replacement for the Rowenta which I don't think is made anymore.

The top of the board is nice and the legs to it are strong, but they do not stay connected. The legs are not actually attached any where underneath. Under the board there are open ended grooves that the front and back bars sit in. The bars themselves are not long enough to properly reach across to both grooves on the board. So even if the groves were not open ended any slight tweaking of the board will cause the bars to fall out. If you try to unfold the ironing board or fold it back up the legs can easily fall off. There is no good way to store the ironing board. If you try to hang it the legs will slid out of the grooves and the board fall off. You also can not stand it up on end because of the iron rest on the back. If you stand it on the iron rest the legs will slid down and fall off. To fix this I removed the back metal rod, drilled in a bolt hole on each groove and fed a long bolt through the groves and legs. I also replaced the front bar with a longer bar that properly reaches both grooves of the board. This keeps the legs secure at one end and able to slide up and down on the other. Parts cost me about $4.00 from a hardware store and now I have a sturdy ironing board that doesn't fall apart.

This is the third ironing board i bought for my wife in the last 6 months, This one is a kepper, Its just a tad heavy, (My wife dont think so )But built very sturdy.....I gave it a 5 star PS. I first bought the c30, Theres no comparison

We iron a lot as we like the feel of soft natural fabrics and commercial laundries are ROUGH on clothes- so we are picky. This ironing board is awesome as it is very sturdy, breathes(lets the steam through), is the perfect size(is wide enough so that if your iron tips over it stays on the board), and has a handy iron storage tray for cooling. The construction is very sturdy and of quality materials and is easy to set up & take down. It is not cheap but is an excellent product and worth every penny.

As with some of the comments the ironing board is heavy but so worth it. Every part of the board is great and especially the stand on the end, which works so great with my new iron.

I always like an ironing board that is heavy enough to not move around when I iron and this one fits the bill. I really love it.
