This review is from: Reliable G4M Professional Fabric Steamer with Metal Steam Head (Kitchen)
I'd used steamers on wedding gowns for years and was glad to have made the decision to have my own. I used a travel steamer for a while which worked pretty good but of course it can't hold much water. My second one was a Conair. It was the one that has a pause feature and an insulated hose that won't get hot and the retractable cord. It worked great for a few years and finally just stopped working. I though I might try upgrading to less plastic and did a lot of research. I don't know why others don't have the pause feature because I loved that! And the retractable cord was great. I didn't realize some steamers get so hot you have to be very careful not to touch the hose. Having to use a mitt seems ridiculous. I read all the reviews and ordered a Jiffy. What a disappointment! Such good reviews and so little steam. It didn't push out steam near as well as my old Conair. I'd ordered it online thru Costco but I packed it right back up and took it back to Costco. Then I chatted with the instant chat feature Allergyclub.com has and decided to get a Reliable G4M. It has great steam. The base has a smaller footprint than the Conair and the wheels roll around fine on my wood floor. The hose gets HOT! I don't know why they don't insulate it as some do because it's hard to avoid the hot spots. I decided to live with the hot hose and the pole that loosens up easily because the steam is so good. Be aware you need to put the handle in the holder on the correct side or it will slip out and whack your toe!
