3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay but it probably won't do what you expect it to do
It's an okay product that is useful for freshening up a pair of pants that is already pretty much wrinkle free. You can't use it on wrinkled pants. I suppose that smaller people may get more use but a man's size pant will not fit into the press unless you press one leg at a time.
Again, it's "okay" but it doesn't produce results that are that much better than you...

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable F1 Pantman, September 3, 2008

The Pantman arrived essentially fully assembled. All that was needed was to plug in two feet. it is very well constructed of sturdy plastic and everything about it is quality. It works perfectly and makes an excellent crease. I even used it as a lark on a pair of chino pants that came out of the dryer with certainly no crease. The first application, it came out very nice. I pressed the bottom for a second application, and it came out nearly perfect. The Pantman has a tray for change but as it states, has no place to hang a jacket; however, while not intended for the purpose or any purpose, the top of the presser accommodates a jacket with just a slight bulge at the neck. All in all it is far better than the expensive wood one I had for years. I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone.

This pantman has done a wonderful job and my husband is thrilled about how good his pants look after being pressed in the pantman. I am very glad I selected this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars It works, But takes more than one run, February 23, 2010

Hey it does work but no worse than my Corby with timer. (Lowest cost Corby)

I have to reset for a second run as I do with the corby. The mounting of the pants is about the same. The price performance is good. It was less than half the price of the corby.

Had a no name hot unit for 20 years my wife purchased at a discount store for $79. That no name did damp wool pants with a perfect crease and had a full one hour timer. It was very hot and probably in danger of setting the house on fire. It took 20 years to finally pop but you only had to set it once.

I suspect there is a lower temp thermistor on these new units and not an extended timmer.
Most likely, even the most expensive $300+ are regulated by the same safety rules.

Everything went great with the delivery. The price is great as well. The unit is good quality, but the interior is a soft velvety material which,at first, looked fine. But I find this creates enough of a sticking sensation that it is hard to stretch the pants in a way to avoid having the sides a bit wrinkly. The crease is always great, but the sides of the pant leg can be less than perfect. This seems to assuage with the actual wearing of the pant. This problem is more pronounced with materials that are less smooth such as brushed cotton(which all of my chinos are made of) and twill. Smoother and thinner materials such as gabardine or even worsted wool work better in this machine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pants Press, February 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The pant press is ok for $99 you get what you paid for, major issue is the material on the inside where the slacks are pressed is very difficult to flatten out the pants thus you tend to get wrinkles unless you are very carefull when you close the machine. I have had other pressers and this was not an issue so must be the material they used inside the pressing area.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does What I Expected it to do., February 8, 2010

This review is from: Reliable Pantman Digital Pant Presses (Kitchen)
This press meets my expectations and performs equally well on my 100% cotton khakis and my wool trousers.

What this press is is a decent quality pants press that does a sufficiently adequate job of removing wrinkles from a pair of pants such that, in most cases, hand ironing is not required.

However, it is not (nor was I expecting it to be):

1. A professional dry cleaning system.
2. A hand-ironed-quality press.
3. A table-top steam pants press.

If I could change one thing about this unit, I would lengthen the platens so as to allow my size 32 inseam slacks to fit somewhat easier and more fully onto the platen, but this is a relatively minor quibble.

The bottom line is that the press does exactly what I expected it to do and I would definitely make the same purchase again given the first-hand knowledge and experience I now have of the unit.
