This rain-tight, rust-proof unit features zinc-plated steel construction. It includes an NEMA L14-20P inlet plug, six knockout holes, and push-in wire connections. The face of the box is removable for easy placement and wiring. It is cUL 1008 listed and covered by a 5-year warranty.

This is an excellant product for hooking your portable generator to your transfer switch, or load center. It's weather proof which makes it worry free. Just attach your cord from the generator to the inlet and your good to go. Make sure you get the correct amp size for your generator. My generator is a 3500 watt which came with a 20 amp 220 volt twist lock
connection. Larger units take larger amp twist lock connectors. So order
according to your generator.

I got this box and its made of heavy gauge metal with a spring loaded plastic lid covering the outlet. Curiously no outside clamp connector is provided for the wire to the box. You elect which 1/2" punch out to use ( bottom or side). You'll need to buy wire clamp for the box. The box opens by removing the front screw. The top and face are one piece. Once inside simple wiring except for the green ground. It has a green connector to a brass plate with a single screw. If your like me and you have heavy gauge (10) solid wire this is a mystery to connect to. I managed to force it under the plate and over tighten to trap both wires but it was less than ideal and strangely out of place since all the other wires are simple, place in a whole and tighten a screw. Whatever, its a simple operation. I gave it 3 stars since I think they could of provided a better means for external wire entry and a better grounding connector. Also, the box could use a more water tightness.
