This book covers alot of the basics for small scale preparation for disasters. It covers simple things like turning off the gas supply to your house. It also gives you a good idea of the tools you should have on hand before the disaster strikes. It is not the end all, be all of disaster response manuals, but is very good for the individual, family, or small community.

Thinking about using tools in an emergency is aided with this book. I especially like the illustrations. Thinking of things like straightening out a damaged door frame is not something I ordinarily do, but knowing how to do it might be helpful... I would recommend this book to virtually everyone.
