He describes a range of printmaking techniques, from the use of everyday objects like feathers, leaves, and fruit through paper blocks, linocuts, and wood engravings. The result in no way competes with John Ross and Clare Romano's The Complete Printmaker (Free Pr., 1991. rev. ed.), which covers the history and technique of intaglio, collograph, and lithograph and other professional methods. It does, however, teach the delights of simple printmaking and, as such, is suitable for general collections.
