Editorial Reviews

2006 reissue of the sophomore album by this Metal quartet fronted by Tairrie B. features three bonus tracks: 'Relapse', 'Last Rites' and 'Omnia Vinat Amore'. 1997’s second album by Tura Satana featured a searing cover of Nirvana’s ‘Negative Creep’, a rare and brave cover of a Kurt Cobain anthem. It wasn’t out of place on an album every bit as fearless and dark as Nirvana’s back catalogue. Noise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and heavy, July 28, 2000
By
C'Athy (Christchurch New Zealand) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Relief Through Release (Audio CD)
I stole this cd from an ex-boyfriend, and I've been loving it ever since. The music is so heavy, but the tunes are great and the rhythms fantastic. It's real up-beat metal that is great to mosh to. Tarrie B is a brilliant vocalist, with her deep and beautiful voice, and her amazing screams, but her voice is very different to most females in metal bands at the moment. Her lyrics are very heart-felt, and appropriate for the music: self-depreciating, hating and angry. My favourite tracks are the chunky "Luna," the bouncy "Dry," the solid "Unclean," the angry "Flux" and the almost-beautiful "Omnia Vinat Amor." Buy this record and you will not be dissapointed. This album is a legend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, May 12, 2003
This review is from: Relief Through Release (Audio CD)
I love Tairrie B. She's a great songwriter, and can scream and yell bloody murder like there's no tomorrow. I'm a fan of Kittie as well, but I think that every project Tairrie B has been and will be a part of is going to out do anything Kittie will come out with. The music is heavy, yet graceful. Relief Through Release is Tura Satana at their best. The lyrics are so that I can't even think of a word good enough to describe them! This CD will be sure to please if you're into heavy guitars with angry chick screams coming from a very beautiful and talented woman.

4.0 out of 5 stars This sucker kicks!, July 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Relief Through Release (Audio CD)
First time i heard this band they were called "Manhole" and had a record out called "All is not well".I swear i had that disc in the machine for at least half a year. It's funny what radio picks up on and doesn't pick up on because if Rage, Korn, Bizkit and the like could make it, i don't know why this band couldn't.Well, They changed their name (Legal reasons i read), and put out another record and it's just as strong, if not stronger than "All...". Tairrie B. can out belt any of her contemporaries and the music just kicks all the way through.Even though it looks like the band is no longer, do yourself a favor and buy this disc. While your at it, pick up "All is not well" also.Hopefully we will see a Tairrie B. solo record in the near future."Are Ya Down?...."
