3.0 out of 5 stars High price for not being the 'final version' of the book!!
I'm currently reading the Kindle version and find it will written and interesting. However when the Table of Contents concludes with this parenthetical statement:
"(PLEASE NOTE: The final book will have appendices, a glossary, and an index.)"
Then why does this publisher, World Ahead Publishing, allow this? Furthermore, when do they plan on publishing and...

5.0 out of 5 stars The threat of Islam to Western civilization- The need to understand the 'ideological element' in the War on Terror, December 6, 2006
This review is from: Religion of Peace?: Islam's War Against the World (Hardcover)
The thesis of this work is that 'Islam' is not a private religion, but one which aims at a certain Utopian social- political order. This social- political order is achieved through total submission of the individual to the communal theological imperative. 'Islam' is the religion of total submission, and as such is also a plan for ruling the world. The means to this are often violent, and terror is too a means. But Davis wishes to make it clear that the West's war for survival should not be defined as a war on the 'means' i.e. Terror , but rather on the Islamic Totalitarian Ideology. In the course of forwarding this thesis Davis makes another claim which many will dispute. He claims that essentially there is no moderate Islam, and all appeals in that direction are futile. He believes that what the West should be aiming in its struggle with Islam is for the secularization of a good share of the Islamic world. The view that encouraging moderate Muslims toward democracy and more individual liberties within their own societies is one which is held by many respected students of Islam, including 'hawks' in the War against Terror, such as Daniel Pipes.
Nonetheless whether one believes that Islam can reform itself from within or not, this book does paint an accurate picture of the kind of radical totalitarian Islam which is sweeping the Islamic world, and posing such a great threat to the West today.

5.0 out of 5 stars "ROP" and documentary are a powerful one-two punch, November 6, 2006

I read "Religion of Peace?" after seeing the documentary that Dr. Davis produced called "Islam: What the West Needs to Know." The documentary leaves no doubt that Islam is less a "religion" than a totalitarian ideology that holds millions in thrall. The book reinforced that understanding, while giving new insights into the origins of the "religion" and its likely evolution -- likely into something even worse than we're seeing today. A reformation is not enough at this point. I found Dr. Davis's book compelling and scary and recommend it to anyone looking for the "politically incorrect" truth about Islam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enlightened, November 11, 2006
This review is from: Religion of Peace?: Islam's War Against the World (Hardcover)
This book explained to me why everything I suspected was true. I have had many conversations with Muslims and it is like talking to an alien that sometimes lies and sometimes tells the truth. You never know when or what they are actually saying. The simple and complete explanation of how their religion works, ie: lying, abrogation of doctrine, waiting for strenghth have given me a greater understanding and taught me how to better deal with Muslims. On a larger scale, it is also scary. We need to wake up and quit being politically correct about everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breath of fresh air, February 24, 2007

This review is from: Religion of Peace?: Islam's War Against the World (Hardcover)
This is the clearest writing on Islam that I have ever read. The author shows, from the Koran and the biographical information on the prophet Muhammad (the hadiths and the Sira), that Islam is not a religion of peace. It is, and always has been, a religion of violence, conquest, and subjugation.

President Bush's long-term strategy for combating terrorism is to replace the Islamic world's autocratic governments with democratic ones. But terrorism is just a means of waging Jihad, and flows naturally from the teaching of the Koran and the life of the Prophet. Terrorism and bad government are both consequences of Islam and the culture it has produced; they are both symptoms of Islam. Terrorism is not a result of bad government. For example, the London tube bombers, who killed 52 and injured 700, were all the products of the liberal, democratic government of Great Britain--three were native-born Britons, one who was born in Jamaica and moved to England at age 5 months.

The idea that Islam is basically a peaceful religion whose adherents have been unlucky with their governments has led the U.S. into a potentially catastrophic long-term strategy:

"Indeed, U.S. foreign policy even now is directed at encouraging pogular movements in the Islamic world at the expense of traditional dictatorships. One point apparently overlooked is that the popular opposition in these countries is invariably, uncompromisingly Islamic. However corrupt and unreliable the current dictatorships of Egypt, Pakistan, Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia (and formerly Iraq), they are in some ways the only things standing between us and fully Islamic regimes in those countries. What Khomeini did in Iran in 1979 the United States may wind up accomplishing on a much broader scale: replacing unpopular, secular, authoritarian regimes with more popular, Islamic totalitarian ones. The current U.S. binge of pushing 'democracy' upon the House of Islam may yet prove one of the most disastrous political obsessions in modern history." (p. 116)

Well said, Gregory Davis!

5.0 out of 5 stars Religion of Peace?, October 31, 2006
This review is from: Religion of Peace?: Islam's War Against the World (Hardcover)
"Religion of Peace?" is a well-documented, fast moving wakeup call to the West. It reveals that, far from being a distortion of Islam, violence is intrinsic to it.

Readers will learn here that Islam is not so much a religion in the traditional sense of the word as it is a political system grounded, like Communism, in violent expansion and forced conversion.

Besides being highly informative, "Religion of Peace" moves quickly. I highly reccomend it to anyone who is serious about current events.

RELIGION OF PEACE? Islam's War Against the World, By Gregory M. Davis

The reader of _Religion of Peace? Islam's War against the World_, by Gregory M. Davis, might benefit by first viewing the documentary, "Islam, What the West Needs to Know." Usually one would read a book first, but in this case the documentary, which is also produced and directed by Davis, updates the reader about the status of Islam and what is happening in the modern era. _Islam's War Against the World_ fills in all the gaps that a reader would need to know in order to understand the author's message about Islam.

_Islam's War Against the World_ does provide the reader with facts and information that one cannot find easily. I myself have used other sources to find out about the history of Islam, but it is difficult to find the information as detailed. For example, not too many sources will tell you that during the attacks on 9/11, Muslims around the world shouted "Allah Akbar," meaning "God is great." Whenever Jihadists attack or have a victory, they shout these words.

The author covers topics such as the history of Muhammad, The Koran, Sunnah, and much more. I have never read so much information about Mohammad, nor could I have imagined that he would have killed so many people.

Most readers want to know if an author is telling the truth. You can trust this author because he has studied the Koran and he has used multiple sources. One of the significant sources is a former Jihadist.

It is my opinion, based on what Davis writes, that it may be too late to keep Europe from being overthrown by the Muslims. For example, when I went to Athens I saw more Muslims than Greeks. The problem with Europeans is that they are very secular and they believe that they do not need to have children. But the Muslims, on the other hand, often have huge families with many children. This is what is currently happening all over Europe.

If the Muslims were able to populate Europe and America and elect a Muslim leader, then they could possibly repeat what they have done in the past, which is unite and then force the world to either convert or die. In the ancient times when Mohammad sent letters to the rulers of the Persian and Byzantine empires, saying to convert or die, eventually Ethiopia gave in to the Muslins and joined them, but the Persian and Byzantines emperors refused. Eventually, as history shows, the Persian and Byzantine empires were taken over by Muslims. In those days, the Muslim population was small, with an army of only 10,000 soldiers, and no one believed that they could overthrow the Persians and Byzantines.

In conclusion, I believe that everyone should read this book because it teaches so much. It is like waking up from a deep sleep. --GT, June 21, 2007

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, September 3, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Religion of Peace?: Islam's War Against the World (Hardcover)
This is quite simply an excellent book. It is clear, concise, and includes the sources from which the information is derived. I have read many books on the subject of Islam and its political impact on the world today. This book tackles this complex subject with amazing clarity. The book does not read as a polemic or an anti-Islam screed. It simply analyzes the religion as a philosophy and a political movement from the sources which are most revered by Muslims themselves.
If you are trying to understand the ramifications of this religion and its implications for both believers and non-believers this is an important work. The work may be frightening to Westerners, but that is because of the religion itself and not because of some bias of the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn the meaning of "abrogation" as it is practiced within the qu'ran, August 13, 2007
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Religion of Peace?: Islam's War Against the World (Hardcover)
One of the most helpful aspects of this work by Gregory Davis is his careful explanation of the concept of abrogation. That is, how the passages of the Qu'ran written later take precedence over those written earlier. For example, the Sura that says "there is no compulsion in religion" was abrogated by one written much later that completely nullified the gentler, more "peaceful" one so often quoted by politicians, muslim apologists, and other idiots. Apparently, even many muslims don't have a clue about this--or else they're being deliberately deceptive. I suspect the latter to be the case. Davis explains this and demonstrates how it is used/ignored to benefit islam. He also explains their endorsement of lying in order to gain advantage over their enemies. All the evil of islam is bound and rooted in muhammed himself. Davis makes this crystal clear. Bravo! Davis, for such a bold piece.

This review is from: Religion of Peace?: Islam's War Against the World (Hardcover)
Don't listen to the drive by media or anyone for that matter who does not take the time to do research on this.

It is too important understanding just what Islam is, was and always will be.

Thank you Mr. Davis. This is my fifth reading on Islam and all say the same thing.

Wake up folks, do your homework.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Opinions, January 14, 2007
This review is from: Religion of Peace?: Islam's War Against the World (Hardcover)
It was interesting that the author's opinion of the Islamic religion is completely opposite for that the American media portays. If you have an open mind and do not mind following up on your own for fact checking then it's a good read. If you don't like books outside the traditional cookie cutter opinions then don't buy it.
